The lady who did my alterations called mine a French bustle? It was underneath.

An idea of how long my train was:

It was a seven-point (if I remember correctly) French bustle.

@mm86:  +1 I think French bustles look the best!

@wontonsoup:  I actually kept mine bustled the entire night.  You did up the bustle by matching two shoelace like straps that were labeled the same number and tying them.  The tighter they were the higher the bustle was.  It held up the entire night, no problems, although undoing the ties at the dry cleaners was a bit much!

@wontonsoup:  The bustle held up BEAUTIFULLY and it did not come out, break or loosen all night. It was not hard to do as my seamstress created a color coded bustle system (blue button, blue loop etc).

As for dancing it was pretty easy to dance in with some minor issues. DH and I had to modify our first dance plan because frankly my dress was huge, much bigger than anticipated. That wasn’t the bustle’s fault. Otherwise dancing on my own was perfectly fine.

@mm86:  My dress bustled looks very similar to how yours looks bustled!

My dress had an under bustle but I don’t think I have any pics of it bustled.

    Here was the train

@wontonsoup:  It probably depends on what the seamstress prefers to do!  I couldnt’ be very helpful considering I was wearing the dress while my MOH and Mom did the bustle I was just holding up the extra fabric LOL.  My photog actually took a hilarious pic of it 🙂
