@goldendreams: usually a good way to find something if they dont have your exact size is to go up a cup size and down a band size. im a big girl and rather busty so i usually wear 42E so if they dont have it i can go to a 40F and it fits fairly well. it also works if you go down a cup size and up a band size but i have had less luck with that. have you looke at hipsandcurves.com?
I agree with aprose. Your best bet is to go up a cup size and down a band size if you can't find your exact measurement. I definitely would not go down to a 36D. It will not give you the push up you want, it will simply mash your breasts and make you feel awkward/uncomfortable. Go with your first instinct and always get your correct size whenever possible.

So I am looking at buying a corselette (or lacette) and am having trouble finding the 34/36DD that I need. I have been told (by a man in a lingerie store) that I could always go for a 36D if I just wanted to make sure I had some pushup. Has anyone done this and had it work out? I am a big believer in wearing the correct bra size in order for it to look right but I have no experience with corselettes or girdles or other shapewear. This is the type of thing I am looking at (need a continuous peice for my sheer dress).
