We're having our planner make us plates and we have our own table so that we do get to eat! Otherwise, I'd be pissed about not getting any of that good food... haha
We're doing 90% of our photos beforehand. Our photographer is all about candid shots, so he told me we have to go to our cocktail reception to mingle and eat so he can get great shots of us with our guests. Darn ;)
I feel the same way! I'm more excited about our cocktail hour appetizers than anything else. ;) The coordinator is supposed to bring food and drinks out to us while we're taking pictures, though, so we'll hold them to it!!!
We're having a separate private cocktail hour for the wedding party where they'll have all the food from upstairs :o)
As for dinner, my coordinator said that we'll prob be skipping the soup and salad but we should definitely be sitting down for dinner.
Hmm maybe I'll make them bring the food out to us first lol..cause there are some Lobster Paninis that I am dying to eat...
at my friends wedding we made them give us a plate during pictures. i'm totally copying her, it was great! make sure you get plenty of napkins... my hands were very greasy and it was an issue with my pretty dress.
If you don't have a separate cocktail hour, request your planner or a nice family member or friend to make some plates up for you. Our photographer was more than willing to get us a few things but my hubs and I weren't hungry at the time. Just enjoying ourselves too much I guess:) - as a result we did miss out on the cocktail hour apps.
We have our own cocktail hours with seperate wait staff. I couldn't imagine not eating all of the appetizers that I picked out!
We're going to be at a Sweetheart table, so we'll get fed first! I so want to eat!!
With all the alcohol that will be served at my wedding, I better get to eat or I'll be in trouble! =) My married friends have said you really have to pay attention and REMIND yourselves to eat, because there's so much going on (and everyone wants to talk to you!) so its easy to get caught up and just FORGET. I can't imagine ever forgetting to eat though...
I'm so with you! I refuse to miss out! Our venue set up a private cocktail hour for us while we're getting our pictures taken. They give us everything the other guests get. I always hear that the bride and groom don't get a chance to eat but I'm so cranky when I'm hungry, it will be in everyone's best interest to let me eat all the food I paid for! :)
Everyone told me that I wouldn't get to eat at my recpetion. It simply wasn't true. I ate until I was stuffed and couldn't put another bite in my mouth. Then we got a great doggy bag full of food from our caterer to take with us on our minimoon.
I've heard this countless times that the couple never gets the chance to eat and it doesn't make any sense to me. You're planning a menu, mostly of food that you enjoy plus things that your guests will eat, and then you don't make any effort to sit down and eat? Many people have to eat regularly for one reason or another or else they will get very sick. Not to mention, the expense of a plate that goes untouched and the wasted food on it.
If someone wants to eat, they will stop whatever they are doing and sit down to eat. If eating is not a priority then they won't. Skip the table visits so that you have time to do so and greet your guests at the end of the ceremony.
I ate. It was great. One of my BM's brought us a plate and then the staff had another plate waiting for us at our table of some more of the apps. We also ate our whole meal.

When it's time to get pictures taken and everyone else is inside drinking and eating- I want to eat the food too lol We had a tasting of our food two weeks ago- SOOO GOOOD...I totally want first dibs haha..whos with me!!!??!
