I just finished my taxes. I always get a large amount back because of the child credit and my daycare expenses come back. If I put my return into a high interest savings account (smartypig.com is what I’m using now) I would have half my wedding budget and then I could save through out the year and when I get taxes again next year (probably around the same amount) I’ll have the second half of it.
But I don’t WANT to spend money on the wedding. lol I’m ready to fly our photographers to vegas with us and just do it there.
Anyone else dreading seeing a large amount in your bank account going towards one day?

I don’t mind too much I’m a saver at heart. I like saving up for stuff. I wish I could get my taxes done already but I’m still waiting on all the documents I need. Sigh.

Seriously! I keep looking at the refund amounts and I’m like I don’t want to spend this on the wedding. lol

Count me in. Anything I get back I’ll put towards the wedding. I’m even embarrassed to admit how much I’ve spent on one day. I’d MUCH prefer to put it towards a house 🙁

Fiance and I are banking on getting really big tax returns this year, and it’s all going to the wedding. We’re registered at 2 places, but I secretly hope lots of people give us money because I don’t want to be in debt after the wedding’s over 🙁

It will be kinda frustrating to see all that money go but after I give up my whole return I will only owe $3,000 to have everything including rings and honeymoon paid off. That will be a big relief!

lol could you buy something little and fun then save the rest? Usually when I get a large sum I treat myself to something smaller that I’ve wanted and wouldn’t usually buy (like a new camera lens or some new clothes) and then save the rest.

@Miss Tattoo: If it makes you feel better Vegas weddings end up costing most brides more than they planned 🙂 (I am a local and things here are expensive)
