Has he asked you? Because if you've already done all that, you might as well call yourselves engaged. I didn't do ANY of that until probably a YEAR after the engagement. lol. So, yea, go ahead and buy it if you love it.
I would consider you guys engaged, so I would say that yes, if you love the dress and you know it's the one, buy it.
But I would alsi advise you try on more dresses just to be sure. I made a hasty dress decision and ended up not liking it in the end. You only get to try on bridal gowns once, you might as well soak it all up! :)
Wow, with all of that being done I'd totally consider you engaged! Sounds like us, lol. Go ahead and buy it!
Buy it! I was engaged before my ring was finished. All of this "officially engaged" stuff is BS anyway. Snatch up that dress on sale, girl.
I agree, you guys are further than we are, I would say go for it!
It sounds like you guys already have it planned out, so I say go for it!
Since you guys already have the venue secured I would say go ahead and buy the dress, especially since it's on sale!
Is October 2010 when your wedding is? If so then absolutely start looking for dresses! They can take 4 to 6 months to come in, so you want to give yourself plenty of time to look!
If you've set a date and started planning, I'd say you're very much engaged! A ring doesn't make an engagement.
If you love the dress and you've tried it on, go for it.
Doooo it! I'm in the same boat and I'm just debating looking, but I think if I found the one for a great price I'd go for it!
I'd say go for it! I bought my dress while I knew he had the ring, but hadn't proposed yet. Then when he proposed (six months later! jeez, what a slacker, lol), we set an engagement of a year, so I had all this time, and even tho I'd bought the dress (on sale) and tried a bunch on, I still went around to other salons and tried dresses on. Turns out the sale happened again the next year, so I needn't have jumped the gun. I even had second thoughts, and the bridal salon, Pricscilla of Boston, was nice enough to tell me I COULD change to another dress without losing my deposit. Ended up sticking with the first one.
UH....NO! If you have booked everything else, a ring is def coming. Buy the dress, its on SALE for goodness sake. Wait a minute... how much is the sale price, now that I think about it?
definitely go for it, especially if you've been eyeing it for months, have you tried it on yet? have you tried on others?
Um, when you decide to marry each other, you are engaged. The ring is just a monetary symbol of that decision and doesn't make it "official."
Absolutely. I definitely agree that you all are engaged. A ring is just an outward symbol to let the world know, though I bet the smile on your face would be enough. Getting the dress on sale is a great plan.
absolutely! you've already set a date and paid for the reception site. you're as good as engaged to me. happy dress shopping!
It definitely wouldn't be terrible! I did the same thing, only we didn't even have our reception site yet. In fact, I started looking at dresses the second he gave me the ok to start planning and booking the reception site and photographer and ended up buying the first one I tried on just a couple of days later. :)
I say go for it, and have fun!
if you've already done all of that then it sounds like you two are pretty serious. might as well buy the dress if it's on sale.
I bought my dress before I was engaged and never regretted it :) And I got the ring on January 1 :)
If its the dress you want at a price that good ... then go for it. A ring on your finger is not a pre requisite to go dress shopping, and if anyone asks just tell them you've send the ring to get re-sized
Go for it! I agree with the others - when you set a date and book a reception hall - you're engaged!
i dont have my ring yet and i've got my dress..it's a winnie couture and i got it for 499! Brand spanking new from a salon too :)
I say you're engaged if you've got the venue and a date set..good luck and hope you get a really good deal! def post some pictures!
Do it! I'm not engaged, but I have done a bit of pre-planning because my SO has mentioned having a short engagement. I always change the subject when wedding stuff comes up because I want to be surprised! I won't look at dresses for fear of jinxing myself. hehe. Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer.

I've been eyeing one dress for months and it's on sale! We have set our wedding date and booked and paid for our reception site and my FI-to-be has placed an order on my ring. Would it be terrible to buy the dress even though I don't have the ring on my finger?
