Walmart has a great deal right now on the same glass tumblers that I was going to rent.  It's .05 more to buy.  Should I buy them and resell them on Craig's list, or am I looking for a big hassle?

sounds like a hassle to me. I mean, if you rent, you don't even have to wash them! just empty, box, and return!

buy so you don't have to worry bout it breaking, returning etc, and even if you don't sell them, it's not that much more...

I should note that breakage is usually covered in the rental, so you don't actually have to worry about breaking rentals.

It's not worth it. You will have to wash all of them and transport them to and from your site. SO NOT WORTH IT. This is coming from a girl who owns 75 stemless wine glasses, 36 stemmed glasses, 36 place setting of stainless, 36 places and countless other party supplies. Oh, I own 10 boxes do square app plates from Crate and Barrel.

    MissRojoOso,

If you will have someone to transport it, set it up, break it down, and then wash it afterwards and you think that is worth the opportunity cost, then go for it.

I just bought them.  I'm splitting the cost with my caterer.
