So, I put this dress on layaway yesterday but woke up with a bit of buyer's remorse. I was originally attracted to the dress because of its simplicity - but now I'm afraid it's TOO SIMPLE! And boring.
I'm having a small wedding at home and don't want a completely extravagant dress that doesn't fit the setting. But I still want to wow my fiance! And I'm not sure if this will do the job. Am I being crazy right now?!
On a side note, I was thinking I could spice it up with an interesting veil or accessories. Any ideas?
Thanks y'all!

I think that the front is very pretty, but simple. But to be honest (as you've asked), i don't like the back of the dress. It looks like jersey knit material :/
It is a great shaped dress for you though.
I love the back! I think it's romantic, feminine, and has a touch of whimsy.
It's like a softened, more romantic take on the Pippa dress. It's beautiful!!!
I think the dress looks great on you and the back is fun and flowy!
I like the dress and it is perfect for your venue. It is very romantic. Before I finished reading your post I was thinking the right accessories would make things pop. Then I saw the back of the dress and thought the dress already has a unique feature. No need to try to make things pop. I really like that it is simple in the front and detailed in the back. In my book simple means classic, sophisticated and elegant. And... the dresss looks fantastic on you!
I love the back of the dress! Sooo flattering and sexy on you!! I think the front needs something and some really nice accessories will do the trick!
I love it on you. That is a dress few women can wear. Earrings and a statement necklace would really complete the look.
I think once the dress is fitted better (it looks a bit loose in the back) you will feel a million times better about it... I love simple dresses, and you are one of the blessed few who can pull off the flowy cascading silk dresses like that! It looks awesome!
I actually love your dress! You could def spice it up with accessories but honestly, you don't really need to. The simplistic elegance speaks for itself. It is beautiful, and not everyone looks beautiful in that fabric. You do. Rock it.
Typically I wouldn't like this style of dress but I agree that you in this dress makes it stunning. A great necklace would be icing on the cake. I think it is the perfect choice and you can rock it!
I think your dress is really pretty and I love the back!
However, one thing- the material basically hides nothing so I would suggest that you wear proper underwear on your wedding day (no idea which torsolette would work, maybe Carnival Invisible? Not sure if you can see the boning under that dress)
I think you have the perfect body shape for this dress, but I agree it's a little simple. Pippa made simple very chic, though... so it's definitely in style! I'd try to find a blingy belt/sash thing to try on if you want to add something. You can also find appliques for the necklines or anywhere on the dress as well. They have so many with pretty crystal designs that may make you say "wow." Dramatic jewelry and an embellished veil may do the trick for you too!
I think you could rock it without any changes too, but do what makes you happiest on your big day!!!
This dress looks absolutely beautiful on you. Not too many women can wear a dress of that material and shape - your waist looks amazing!
I think you should give it another chance and try it on wearing some accessories (I'm imagining a big art deco bracelet and either a medium length or birdcage veil), and see what you think again. It might change your perspective. If you're still second guessing after that, you should continue looking.
PS If you need help finding something to wear underneath, PM me. I too have a 30s style silk dress and finally found the perfect things to wear without any visible seams or lumps.
The dress looks amazing on you! You could do something fun with your hair or wear a blingy necklace or earrings if you still think it needs more pizazz.
It's beautiful! Perfect for you and for the venue. And it looks incredibly comfortable! I'd absolutely keep it!
I think your dress is incredible! Granted, I might be biased bcnit has a similar silhouette to my own weddIng dress but for your venue and description of your wedding, I think it's perfect! I'm all about simple elegance, which is your dress exactly!
I wish I could rock that dress like you do ! IMO, it definately has a wow factor ! I love it :)
That being said, it is YOUR day. You need to love it like we do :) How do you feel now ?
Well you've definitely got the body to rock that dress.
I agree with adding some bling though. I've seen some wicked cute sparkly sash/belts floating around the Bee, or try Etsy.
It's a beautiful dress. You deff look "wow" in it!! It looks amazing on your figure!
I really like the dress and honestly, all you really need is a beautiful necklace - maybe something that glitzes up the front of the dress? The back doesn't need anything, it's beautiful.
That is seriously one of the most beautiful dresses I have seen. And not many could wear it - so please dont change it. If you were to keep the dress as-is (without adding belts or anything directly to the dress) you would make a very elegant statement by having your hair done with romantic flowers woven in, or sparkly broach-like accessories in it. Or you cold have some dazzle from a pair of elaborate earrings instead...
I think you will feel much better once ou try this dress on with your hair done and some accessories, because its STUNNING.
I think you look beautiful! The dress sounds perfect for your venue and looks amazing on you.
I love it! Very femine with an undercover sexy...I think its beautiful front and back.
i think you could pull any dress off (you have a lovely figure). however, this one looks like it needs some altering to fit you better. what material is this? did you try a lot of dresses on?
go with your heart on this. how do you feel when you put it on?
you can always dress it up like you menttioned. veil, jewellery, hairdo, etc.
I think this dress is amazing, elegant, and different. Sometimes it's best to keep it simple, especially if that is your style. And as PPs have mentioned, this dress can be accessorized in so many ways!! Congratulations on picking out such a beautiful dress!
that dress is gorgeous, and you look gorgeous in it! love, love, love!
Honestly, while it is simple, it is absolutely beautiful! I think the simplicity adds to the beauty. It fits your body amazingly and you just look stunning. I think if you dress it with a few accessories and a beautiful veil, it would be just incredible.
Honest opinion? I think the dress is great. It's nice to see a dress that isn't drowning in layers of sparkles, ruffles and pickups.
I love it! You have a killer figure, and it shows it off but without being over-the-top. You look romantic and graceful and elegant.
I think some beautiful hair bling would add just the right touch!
This dress is gorgeous! With the right statement necklace and earrings, you will be so stunning!
I love this dress.as others have said, totally reminds of Pippa's dress!! I think that once you have you veil, jewelry, and hair/makeup done, you won't think it's plain.
I actually LOVE the back! Spice it up with accessories and shoes. I'm picturing a few thin delicate stackcable bangles and a statement necklace, which you could get away with b/c it wouldn't be competing with dress due to it's elegant simplicity.
And I agree with Katyelle that it IS nice to see a dress that isn't all sequins, pickups and the like.
I think it's very beautiful. Have you considered using a fancy (either lace or rhinestone) sash for the middle? You can find some gorgeous ones on etsy.
You are one of the few lucky brides that can TOTALLY pull this dress off! I say rock it. I wouldn't go over the top with the accessories. I think a big sparkly hair clip and maybe some strands of pearls would be perfect.
HONEST OPINION: I think it's of course, very simple. The back makes up for the front being so "plain" ( I had to use that word but I don't mean it in a negative way ) because of all the ruffles, I just love the back. I love the front too, it just depends on the look you are going for and your venue, decor, overall FEEL of the wedding. I could definitely picture this is a smaller/not as formal wedding...for sure. If that is you in the picture, it looks GREAT with your figure. I don't think I could pull something like that off because the material is a little bit more light weight it would show every nook and cranny and bump and lump LOL. Plus my 'girls' are a little on the bigger side so I wouldn't know how to go about the bra situation. But, I really like the dress and it looks fab on you! Get an awesome necklace or some super great chandelier earrings to dress it up a little if you want :) I like it. My vote: keep it!
