I found this website: www.plussizebridal.com but would like to hear your experience if you ordered a bridal dress from them.

If you had a good/bad experience with any other online sites as well, please let me know.

    Thanks!

I ordered my dress from Netbride and I would recommend it.  However, I was able to find the dress I wanted at a bridal store in Austin, tried it on, liked the size, and ordered the dress in this size in a shorter length.  Before you decide to order online (because it is usually cheaper!!!) research your dress, how the sizes run, and if possible find out if a store carries the style so you can look at it in person :)  Good luck!

I ordered 2 dresses online and am so glad i did!

I ordered one dress from Lightinthebox.com a china company- I LOVE LOVE the dress!

My 2nd dress I ordered thru etsy.com I did an Alchemy listing for what i wanted. My dress isnt done yet but i got the sketch and i couldnt be happier with it!

I HIGHLY recommend trying on dresses at a dress shop & getting measured before buying ANYTHING

I would check out their rating on the BBB.

I bought my BM's dresses from Netbride. It was a great experience, but I had my girls try on the dress at the bridal salon first and my grandmother (who is a seamstress) took all of our measurements.

    Thanks ladies...I appreciate the input.

I figured I would try them on at some of the bridal places...hopefully find one I like, then order online to save money.

I'm going dress shopping this Saturday with my mom and sister...wish me luck!

I didn't check out the BBB rating for the place where I got my first dress. Had I done so, I never would have ordered from Gioavonni's Bridal Botique as they have a F rating from the BBB.I CRIED when I got the dress out from the shipping package, it was horrible. Do some research BEFORE ordering!

I just got mine today that I ordered off of ebay from i-can365.  This is a chinese company that does "cheap" reproductions but the quality is fantastic.  To be honest, I was a little aprehensive about it, but I had my measurements professionally done and I ordered well on time so if the quality was bad or the dress was a diaster I could get something off a rack.

    I honestly couldn't be happier.

Like I said, there needs to be some altering done since the back isn't staying up over my corset.  But I think my seamstress can deal with it. ;-)

I chose other because I'm so for buying anything online as long as extensive research is done. I intended fully to shop online and I wasn't going to buy without trying on first. I went to a bunch of different places looking for styles I was interested in and in the end I found a shop that had a good reputation and had what I wanted for only about $50 more but could get it sooner than the most reputable place online.

    Hi,

I bought a wonderful MOB gown last year from www.keepmeinstitches.biz  The quality was great, and the price was even better.  Just make sure to get professionally measured (I got measured by a local drycleaner seamstress) so that you order the right size, at the time I was a 2x, but for their gowns I had to order a 5x!!!  They have some bridal and bridesmaids and prom gowns, and accessories for great prices.   I found their customer service was great too.  You have to click on the gowns to find the sizes and or colors offered for each gown.

I wish I had had the guts to order a dress online.. I totally fell in love with a Pronovias dress which rang up for €4000 (little over 5000$) which was a big no-no, no way I was going to spend that much on my weddingdress! I browsed for places online and found it on an US site (I think it was a remake) for a fraction of the price. But I was too paranoid and worried I might either not get a dress at all or end up with something terrible etc.. so instead I just went to a bridal store here and bought my dress (a different one ;)) there. Maybe had I known where to go for a good seamstress I might have looked into ordering online, but since there aren't many Dutch/EU places to order from ordering from the States would take quite a bit of time for shipping (not to mention the extra shipping costs, and duty to pay at customs) and that might have been stressy to get it all in and altered in time for the wedding (we got engaged in January, but weren't able to start planning really until early April, and picked a date for late August.. so tis all a bit short-time-planning!:))

I *HEART* the dress I bought on Ebay from Heiphy and you can't beat the price - I would reccommend that if you don't know what styles flatter you though, go to a bridal shop first and try things on. I happen to know that a empire waist looks good on me. And, my mom knew how to take measurements. That's another important thing.

I bought mine online and it is okay.  It would have been fun to have that bridal store experience, but that wasn't an option for me.

I bought a dress online.  It looked beautiul and "classy" online. Unfortunately, since I am not a flat-chested model, the dress looked a lot... well, sleazier on me.  Now I am trying to sell that one.

On the other hand, I bought a second dress from a bridal store (Alfred Angelo 1148, it is awesome), and it is a style that I picked out online.  I tried to get it off e-Bay, but it didn't come up, so I just bought it from the real life store for less than what many online stores were selling it for.

I think buying online is a good idea if you can try on the dress or a similar dress beforehand in real life.

    Thanks everyone.

I ended up going to a bridal shop with my mom & sister last Saturday and found the perfect dress.

Bad news - can't find it online.  So I guess I'll be spending a little extra money on the dress...but it is so worth it!
