Hello dear bees,
I recently went to david’s bridal and tried out some dresses, but I really didn’t love anyone. I’m thinking on buying my dress online because I’ve seen some BEAUTIFUl dresses (designer Lazaro) and I really want one of those.. but david’s bridal doesn’t do alterations from dresses outside their store.. what do I do :S?
How’s that work if you buy a dress online and need alterations?
Anyone who’s done this? what’s your advice?
Is it recomended to buy a dress online??
Thanks for the replies!! muak!

You can find a private seamstress in your area for alterations, that’s what I did. I purchased my wedding dress at a small local bridal shop & ordered a reception dress from Light in the Box & both of my dresses will be altered by the seamstress that I found amazing reviews on! 🙂

@MrsWilson2012: Great! about how much did she charge you?

@Mrs081223: I actually got my dress customed online due to the fact that I am only 5ft and even petite dresses are too long for me. I love how the dress fits great, except that the style I picked makes it hard to walk in.
So, I am all for online dress shopping!

@Mrs081223: I’m all for it…they usually ask exact measurements be done before preparing the dress (unless you get a discount for one that has been made to a particular ‘size’). There are a lot of excellent seamstresses that work privately. I lucked out because I have a seamstress from another previous wedding and know of her work.

@Mrs081223: I also recommend buying on line. Not only do you get a designer dress (about 95% accuracy) but if you get measured properly, there are no alterations needed.
I bought my daughter’s dress from Jasmines Bridal Shop, do a search and you will read some amazing stories of the dresses they have made on the BEE as well as see actual photos of the dresses on the ladies that bought from them.
We are having my daughter’s dress altered by a local seamstress, it is a bit long because she hadn’t chosen her shoes when we ordered the dress.
