Hi Bees –
I found my DREAM dress in November (8 months before the wedding). We bought it knowing that there was a major tear in the tulle that needed repair, but the sales girl was extremely confident that she’d seen tears like this before and it could definitely be fixed like new, so we bought it. Long story short, after a lot of stress, drama, and heartache with two different alterations people, we have had to take the dress to yet another new alterations person who tells us that she doesn’t think it’s possible to fix the dress like new and the patch over the tear will be obvious. The tear is over the butt, so it’s in a very visible part of the dress. The dress is stunning, so I will be sad to not be able to wear it, but if it’s not going to work then I don’t want to waste any more time.
It’s now only two months before the wedding. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is it even possible to get a new dress at this point? Am I limited to only sample dresses, or is it possible to rush order a new dress? Help!
