So my 1st shower is on Sunday and I’m super exited!! Chocolate fountain and margarita bar… need I say more? And I’ve already bought 2 items off of it for myself… BUT for good reasons!
First, there was a set of dinnerware on the registry from one store that I REALLY liked, so of course it was discontinued. I went there to put on another set and found out they still had the set I liked on clearance and with my 10% off that I get from it being on the registry I would pretty much be getting 2 for 1. I left with my 2 sets of dinnerware…
And now, just today, I bought the Kitchenaid blender I had on my list from the other store. That was one of the items I REALLY wanted (I’ve wanted a blender for months). It was on sale, plus you got a Kitchenaid mini-chopper (worth $70) as a bonus PLUS because I spent over $100 off my registry I got ANOTHER bonus of 2 champagne flutes. So everything for $160 with my 10% discount as well. The sale was ending today. How could I not…
My Mum scoffed at me for buying the blender because ladies here wait ’til the last minute to buy shower gifts so probably more then half still need to buy before Sunday.
Am I terrible for not waiting for someone else to buy me these things? Believe me, there is TONS of stuff on registry that these ladies can buy before Sunday…

Not terrible! I meant to go buy something off mine today. Thanks for reminding me!

I agree not terrible at all! I actually got one of those Bed Bath and Beyond “$25 off $50 purchase” coupons for referring a friend and I plan on getting some of the smaller little odds and ends (things that are like $4 and $5) off the registry. I had toyed with them being on there in the first place and have taken them off multiple times but with my coupon I don’t feel as bad about keeping them on there and buying them all up to leave some of the more “traditional” gifts on there. 🙂

LOL. We bought our own China before the wedding!! I couldn’t resist, the style was being discountinued..
Felt the same, there are soo many things you ask for they have their options. Why not?

No its not like anyone will know (if you mom stays quiet about it).. My suggestion though is to make sure you still have plenty of items on your list for others to buy.

I totally plan on buying my carpet deep cleaner/steamer off my registry. I promised myself a present if I lost 20 lbs ( I am soooo close, any day now ), and that’s going to be it. Besides, it’s one of the more expensive items, so no one else will probably get it anyway.

Not terrible. I got some gift cards this week from guests who are not attending, and I really want to go use them LOL
But no, I don’t think it’s a bad thing, especially if you thought your item might not be there the next day!

Thanks ladies! I don’t feel bad at all. Fiance came to pick up the items and take them back home and I was so excited to show them off!! Believe me, PLENTY of items that are still on the list. And I’m having a gift card shower with FI’s family, so after tomorrow, will be checking to see what I really need/want thats still on there!

I bought my china place settings off Rue La La b/c it was really cheap. I figure I was just using some of the money I figured I’d receive. Plus, I thought that if other people saw that I got the dishes, they’d buy me the serving pieces and pieces.
