I know quite a few bees have purchased used gowns online. I was hoping you could share your experiences! Any sites better than others? Anything you recommend asking? I just emailed a seller on OnceWed. I was just browsing for the heck of it and stumbled upon a dress that has elements I’ve liked from other dresses — lace and sleeves, hello! Even after closing the window, I had to go back and look at it again. The only problem is that there were no full length pictures, just shots of the bride sitting down and a close up of the top, so I asked her if she has any pictures of the back and full length of the front. I feel sort of impulsive, but the price is almost too good to pass up. Obviously, my next step will depend on if she replies with the other pictures or not.

I know I’ve shared this before, but I bought Julianna, Mrs. Cowboy Boot’s dress. I guess that added an element of security to buying it in a weird way. I had seen countless pictures, a video, etc, already. But I think what helped the most was that a) she listed her measurements and b) she’s very close in height to me, so I know it would proportionately work. My experience was wonderful, no complaints whatsoever! We used PayPal.

I bought my online — from the classifieds here in fact 🙂
It didn’t fit perfectly so I had a friend’s mom alter it for me (one of the few regrets from my wedding….definitely wish I’d had it professionally altered). But overall it was a great experience.
Obviously you have to be careful, but if the person seems good to work with over e-mail (gives good pictures, details, etc.) and it’s what you want, I’d say go for it! Especially if it’s a good price, any misfit could probably be altered and it would still be under budget 🙂
