It seems that my search for a veil is never-ending. I’m SO indecisive – one day I want cathedral length, the next I want fingertip, one day I want a cut edge, the next I want a satin edge (UGH!). So for me, having a decent return policy is important–and one of the reasons I keep deciding not to buy on etsy, although I’ve found gorgeous ones on there.
I am currently peeping some inexpensive veils at Lightinthebox.com – I’ve never heard of this place before, it’s an overseas company, and the veils don’t come with a comb… so all of that worries me. But they are one of the few places I’ve been able to find onlie that allows returns on veils. I’m willing to spend more on a veil if the quality is good ($150 max), but I haven’t really found any places that sell seamingly good quality veils with a return policy (and that can get it to me within the next 6 weeks…)
So, I need some advice… where should I look? Anyone had a good/bad experience with light in the box? What’s the deal with veils without combs–how the heck would I make that work?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice. =)

I’ve heard great reviews from light in the box. My gf brought her dress there and the quality was amazing.
I brought my veil from dhgate.com, beaded edge up to my back (unsure of terminology). Pic had a comb but when they sent it, it didn’t have a comb…so I got a slight refund, and purchased a clear comb at my craft store it’d attached it on myself. Veil ended up being $17! So if your budget is $150…you’re pretty safe to buy multiple veils for last minute change of mind. Besides….tulle is tulle…the material of my veil was excellent and the hand beading was perfect.
Better than paying anywhere from $50-$300 in stores 🙂

@October13Bride: How long did shipping take? I still haven’t bought my veil and the wedding is in July. I was thinking of dressily or light in the box but was unsure

I bought my garters from Light in the Box and shipping took forever, almost 2 months.
The quality and customer service were good though, no complaints there.

I have bought from lightinthebox before (a chiffon shrug for a party dress). The quality of the items was good, but I did have to pay customs/taxes when the stuff arrived. Although there is a return policy, I don’t think that it would be as easy as a North American return because of the cost of shipping. If you are buying from any Chinese site, I wouldn’t expect to be able to do an easy return. Saying all that though, the prices are fairly cheap so it is worth taking the chance.

i got my veil from tulip bridal. it took me a couple weeks to receive my order because it was out of stock (even tho the website said it was in stock) and they thought someone had notified me about it, so they were waiting to hear from me to make sure it wasn’t a problem when i didn’t even know what was going on. BUT when i contacted them to find out what the hold up was, they got back to me very quickly and apologized for the confusion. i love my veil and would definitely recommend them.
their return policy is kind of strict- you need to contact them within 3 days of receiving your order for an exchange/refund and i believe for certain items there is a restocking fee. they also have a shop on etsy (i think it’s called alex bridal?), but their return policy is different, so watch out for that (i think they only do exchanges, not refunds, but i’m not certain).
my mom bought a bolero from light in the box and i don’t remember exactly how long it took to ship, but i wanna say it was like, 3 weeks? maybe a month?
