He proposed on 6/2 on a trail by beautiful, babbling brook on our 1st cabin trip last week. I was worried I wouldn’t love the ring as much as when we picked it out many months ago. Still love it. It was worth waiting for him to ask, even though he was okay with me asking. I did give him a promise ring a few weeks ago, because he had really wanted a ring too. I think he really wanted to be the one to ask though, so I was patient and waited.
Here is the cheesy porposal: I said, the view is so beautiful during a break from the hike, and he said as beautiful as this while holding out the ring with cheesy grin. He doesn’t remember saying that, but he did. He remembers it as him saying: I love you. Will you marry me? I think we were both nervous and excited. We drove to a mountain view afterward.
We plan to go back every year or every other year to rent a cabin. It was what he did with his parents as a child and his dad did with his family. I found out I really like hiking. My honey and I are planning to do more hikes, make it a hobby.
