Is New Jersey an option?  You might like Jasna Polana, in Princeton.  The evening events are costly but a Friday or Sunday brunch wedding is very reasonable.

I don’t have personal experience at Cairnwood but I have heard from friends that the reception splits the guests into different rooms so not everybody is all together. And you have to use one of their preferred caterers.

Yes, this is true – it’s a very bizarre layout. They can put up a tent on the veranda outside, which probably fits between 100 and 150 people. I forget the number, but if you go above that, everyone has to get split into the different rooms in the interior. Wasn’t the feel I was going for. And yes, they do require you use one of their preferred caterers, but most venues do.
