Our cake is costing us $305.00 total, and that is with the delivery fee. It serves 75 people. We went to her house for a cake tasting back in Aug before we decided and it was sooo good! Her website is awesome and her portfolio is amazing. She is a great cake artist.
I think the cost might depend not only on the # of guests, but the area in which you live.
Things aren't quite as expensive in Oklahoma ;)
We're using Fluffy Thoughts Cakes in McLean. The per slice cost of our cake was $5.50 per serving, then another $75 for decorations (ended up being $377.50 for the cake for 55 people, plus delivery since we were outside of her radius for free delivery - our wedding is actually in Winchester). Lara, the owner, was really great to work with - she based the design for our cake off of our invitations, which have a blue vine running up the side. The flavors are really good, and the tasting was great - we got to try 7 different cake flavors and about 18 icing/layering flavors. Lara used to work for Warren Brown (the owner of Cake Love), and it shows.
We used Jennifer Hirshhorn at Custom Cakes and Confections. We ended up doing a fake cake plus sheet cakes because it was an outdoor wedding in July and we didn't want it to collapse. It was delicious, and I think we spent under $500 to serve 175 people. (I'm not sure anymore, but it was super reasonable I thought.) We're planning to order an anniversary cake from her too.

About how much are you budgeting/did you spend on your cake? Do you guys have any recommendations for cake vendors in the area?
Thanks!
