Alright, so for budgeting purposes, my Fiance and I have been contemplating how we will handle cake for our wedding reception. Neither of us are crazy about cake but still think including it is necessary. We’re guestimating about 300 guests.. so we’re thinking sheet cakes for the guests, and a very small, simple (two tiered maybe) cake for us..for the traditional cutting aspect… obviously the cost depends on where we purchase it and how many sheet cakes we get, but anyone have a guess how much cakes cost? how many sheet cakes do you think it will take to feed all guests? I’m just looking for a general idea at this point in time…

Honestly, for every big party my family has thrown, we have always gotten the sheet cakes at WalMart. They are delicious and can do whatever you want. I would check their website for pricing.

@vanilla frosting: I LOVE your name! its making me hungry!
I’ve seen a lot of people do the small cake for cutting. The bakerys around here are VERY reasonable for the sheet cake I think it was $40/ 35 people

Our 3 tiered buttercream cake was priced at $3.50/serving and sheet/kitchen cakes were $2.50/serving.

We got our cake at Publix grocery store and it will be about $350 + delivery fee (I think $25) for 150 people saving the top tier. This is a 3 tier round cake. We are not doing sheet cakes so I have no idea how much those would cost!
