So, due to money restrictions, we are planning on having cake and punch in the church fellowship hall after our ceremony, rocking a reception like our mama’s did! Anyway, I know we are planning on having a strawberry cake, lemon cake, chocolate peppermint punch, tea/water and some other kind of punch (Need suggestions on this!) We also would like to have some kind of fruit and veggie or crackers, SOMETHING. But they key is it can’t be very much. So anyone who has done their own fruit/veggie trays, where did you get them? And if you don’t mind how much was it?

We are having a intimate ceremony and reception but the next weekend we are having a punch and cake reception for all the people we didnt invite the first time. I am going to have a cake as well as a cookie bar. I found some very unique cookies(Like raspberry thyme shortbread and lavender sugar cookies) and you can bake them up to a month before and freeze them and they are pretty inexpensive. Drink wise, we are having homemade lavender lemonade, sun tea(homemade ice tea that is made in the sun) and fruit punch that will have frozen fruits in it. I usually just buy my veggie and fruit platters from Costco and they are about $15.00(Canada) per platter and they feed about 10 people if you have other snacks there too. I hope this helps:D

We’re having cake, candy, coffee, ice tea. Probably having some fruit and veggie platters. I always get them from walmart, because they are cheap and good 🙂

Hey I use the following punch recipe all the time and everyone loves it!
2 x concentrate lemonade
1 x concentrate welches grape juice (or if you are using regular fruit juice you will probably need 2 cans)
1 bottle of cranberry juice
1 x 2L bottle of sprite or 7up
Tons of Ice….
1 slices orange, lemon and lime
Fill punch bowl with water and stir If you want to get really creative you can freeze berries and editable flowers into your ice cubes
Last week I made a vegetable tray that could have fed 150 people and I bought all of the vegetable and cut them up my self and including dip it cost me around $40. Waaayyy cheaper then purchasing them premade from the store

we’re doing a ‘sweet & savoury tea’ which is basically a cake & punch. We’ll be having a mini quiche bar, tea sandwiches, a pie bar and a wide variety of danties/cookies as well as fruit skewers/veggie trays etc.
Lemonade, sweet tea, fruit punch, coffee, tea and water are what we had in mind for drinks.
I totally agree that doing veg/fruit trays yourself is way way cheaper than the pre-mades.
