there's a place called A Piece of Cake Bakery in Santa Clara. i haven't personally used them because there are bakers closer to me, but it's something worth checking out. they have a lot of different flavors of fillings and they customize flavors as well.
Oh yeah, I remember my reception venue mentioning that place. Thanks Lindsy. Anyone use anywhere for a really cute shower cake and have ideas and photos to share? We are hoping to make it something really special for her! She loves orchids, so maybe even something with them would be great!
I booked Jen's Cakes for my wedding, but I know that she does events too. Cake is super yummy! they are out of San Jose in the Willow Glen area.
Thanks for recommending Jen's cakes! I had found her a little while back for a baby shower cake, but never ended up working with her because the shower got canceled. How would you say her prices are?

I haven't ordered a non-wedding cake from her, but her wedding cakes are pretty reasonable for the pricing I've seen in the Bay Area. Our cake for 160 is running about $600. The other place I tasted at for same # of people was $800+.

Who would you recommend as a baker in the Silicon Valley area? I'm in San Jose, so close to here something would be great. We are throwing an 80th birthday party for my hubby's grandma and the grandkids are in charge of her cake. I used Bijan Bakery for my wedding, but wanted to see if there is anywhere else anyone recommends around here?
