    Hi,

I am looking for a bakery in Los Angeles.  I am very interested in a cake with a WOW factor.  In other words, I do not want a white cake with flowers on it.  I recently went to Let Them Eat Cake in Costa Mesa.  The design was amazing, the cake was disgusting.  So in terms of design, I'm looking for something along the lines of Let Them Eat Cake, but with a delicious taste.

    Thanks.

What about Sweet Lady Jane?  I've had lots of bday/holiday party cakes and desserts from them and they were absolutely delicious!!  I just checked out their website for wedding cakes and while none of them were amazing looking (to me at least) it seems like they have the potential to design something awesome.

Also a friend of mine got her wedding cake from LARK and it was absolutely delicious/they were a pleasure to work with although they might be too simple for your tastes!

    Good luck!

We are from LA and got our wedding cake from Cakes By the Pound. Mendy was awesome and created a true original that wowed out guests (and tasted awesome!) They are located in Alhambra.

I got my cake from Rossmoor Pastries.  Delicious cake and beautiful (and affordable too).  They are located in the Rossmoor area of Long Beach.  Heres a pic of our cake:

you should try Porto's in Glendale or Burbank.  Their cakes are delicious and I've seen some pretty cool ones come out of there.  The stuff they show on the website is not all that interesting, but I've seen better from them.  Here's some examples:
