That's not really fair that weddingwire removed it. I think you were really professional in your review.
I feel your pain about the cake. I had ordered red velvet and when I cut the cake on the big day... regular chocolate. Nobody but me and my husband noticed, and it tasted great, but I was disppointed.
Geez, I'm sorry you had to deal with that! By mistreating you, your mother, and planner, she's simply adding to the evidence that she has no business sense. I agree that you were very specific and straightforward in your review, nothing that seemed unfair or slanderous. It's unbelievable that weddingwire would pull your comments! How else are other brides-to-be going to know what they may be getting themselves into?
We're meeting with a baker today after work for a tasting. I've already printed photos to take along. Because of your post, I'll make sure that I spell out exactly what I want.
Wow, I am so sorry that weddingwire removed that review. I'm sure some bride will really appreciate your posting since it might save her all kinds of problems!
I have done a lot of searching through google for vendors, and they let you post reviews!
Update!
It continues to get worse. She has futhered the nasty emails to my wedding planner and is now harrassing my photographer! I happen to have become good friends with my photographer so when she called upset, it made me livid.
For all Florida Panahandle / Panama City brides - AVOID Renee of Fatty Patty's!!!
For all brides looking for vendors - do NOT trust the reviews on WeddingWire.com!!
Wow. Can you contact weddingwire - maybe send an email or two from the baker - and get your review reposted?? because if I were a bride I'd definitely want to know all this. Glad you posted this for us!
WeddingWire does not trust the veracity of the reviewer and will side with the vendor. You have to prove your vendor was incompetent to post a bad review. Seriously?? I just avoid that site.
I apologize that you had such a bad experience. That should've never happened especially with weddingwire! Thanks for the information, I'll be sure not to add that person as a vendor friend for my business. But other than that I'm glad to hear that the rest of your wedding was great! Congrats on your new marriage!
MightySaphire is right. I have been contacting them and they say they are "looking into it", but have had NO useful response to my forwarding the emails from the cake baker. I think I am going to unregister there, and avoid that site. I just wish I had realized not to trust the reviews initially! Which is why I am posting about it on weddingbee so that hopefully, other brides don't run into the same problems.
Thank you SimplyUnique!
And I do want to be clear that I do not think that all vendors on weddingwire are bad - just weddingwire itself and Renee of Fatty Patty's.
Since we all know how great weddingbee is, I had an idea for a low-key personal message review idea.

Please comment with what you think!
Well, I have officially unregistered from weddingwire. You know what
their helpful advice was when I explained the unprofessional drama that
had insued? They told me I should have been annonymous in my review.
Very helpful - thanks. Have I mentioned how much I love weddingbee lately?
I'm so glad that you posted a link to this on the other Destin thread. I remember reading it, but had forgotten. We're planning on using Confections on the Coast I think. Fatty Patty's in on the Seaside list, but her cakes look so bad in all the pictures I've seen, I wasn't impressed.
Double thanks for posting this! I am in the area and will for sure avoid her business.
I had a bad experience with Fatty Patty's as well, and felt afterwards that the good reviews on WeddingWire were misleading. I met with her, liked the cake, we came to a general agreement, and she said she would email me paperwork that night. I never heard from her! I booked someone else who turned out to be FABULOUS but then Renee of Fatty Patty's had the gall to email me the paperwork--a few weeks before my wedding and MONTHS after we'd met--as if no time had passed at all. Extremely unprofessional.
FH contacted her when we were looking for a baker. He had no idea about the reviews I had seen here about Fatty Pattys and Renee.
She emailed us back and basically didn't answer any of our questions. We asked her for a listing of her cake flavors and fillings and she just wrote "Many" as a reply. She was basically abrupt thoughout the entire email, like she didn't give a damn if she worked with you or not.
Now I didn't say anything to FH about the reviews or what I felt about the email she wrote back, but when we were discussing it that night at dinner he just sort of said "And I didn't like that Renee woman, she seems like an ass, so she's out of the running."
But to leave this on a positive... she's consistant... Consistantly an ass to everyone, apparently.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I was very excited about working with Renee of Fatty Patty's. My mother and I went for a tasting and she had forgotten we were coming. It wasn't too big a deal since she always keeps some tasting cakes and icings around. They tasted amazing. I had looked at her website and knew she could create just about anything and her price was reasonable. I had brought pictures of a bunch of cakes we liked different aspects of (shape of this one, detailing of that one etc). Not too long after, we booked her. I didn't live local, so I left it to my mother and wedding coordinator to iron out the details. Overall, Renee can bake beautiful tasty cakes, but she does not do well at running a business. Dealing with her became a stressful ordeal. The end result being that there had been 1 picture I had given her just to show the ribbon edge and flowers on it, and she made THAT cake exactly. Ignoring that we had talked about a different shaped cake, and that we REALLY didn't like some of the detailing that was on that cake etc. But here it was - that EXACT cake, wrong shape, wrong detailing and all. But it tasted good and my wedding was fun so I just didn't care. If I had to do it over again, I would have saved everyone some communication stress and not gone with her.
That is the exact review I posted on Weddingwire.com since that's where I found her. She disputed it, got it removed, and sent a NASTY email that has my mother in tears. I found out later that she was nasty to my wedding planner on a few occasions going as far as to say "Maybe you should just go to Publix!" If I had known that, I would have.
If you have a picture of the EXACT cake you want - she can probably do it and it'll taste good. Dealing with her, however, left a terrible taste.
