Hi bees! I am planning my July garden wedding and have recently become obsessed with my cake (wedding brain). I have already picked out my designs and paid my cake deposit. Here is my bride cake inspiration:
The only difference is I am having fresh flowers (same color scheme) and a few flowers on top, as well as a crystal monogram topper.
I originally picked almond for my cake flavor, but recently found out my cousin has a severe allergy. I know she could just have groom’s cake, but I’m starting to think maybe I should pick something more creative. I’m thinking about changing the flavor to.. lemon cake with strawberry filling! Have any of you married bees had a “unique” cake flavor?

We are thinking of going with red velvet. But I think your lemon with starberry tastes better than almond. And you won’t have to worry about allergies!

Ours is marble! I think lemon with strawberry filling sounds SUPER DELICIOUS!!!
However, the reason we chose marble because we knew that lemon would not be everyone’s cup of tea, so we went with something that is generally universally liked.

We are going with what I consider an unusual flaver but it tastes awesome- key lime with blueberry filling. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t think you will ever pick a flavor that satisfies everyone. We had also considered something like almond but decided against it since nut allergies are so common. I think lemon with strawberry filling sounds amazing too 🙂

You can also have different flavors for each layer. That still won’t deal with the allergy problem due to possible cross contamination, but it does give your guests a choice of flavors.
The last cake I made had almond for the bottom layer with a blueberry filling, the middle layer was tiramisu, and the top layer was peach schanpps.

I can’t eat lemon, and Fiance can’t eat strawberry. If we were at your wedding at that was your cake, neither of us would touch it, but we’d probably still have a great time, and a week later we’d only remember how wonderful your wedding was, not what the cake flavor was.
If you want something with mass appeal, you’re probably safest with white or yellow cake. I say get the cake YOU want 🙂

I think your cake sounds delicious. Why not do many flavors? I think we did four one for each tier.
