jessica.lanphere:  That sounds devine!

SO and I were chatting and think we’ll have a 3 tier with: White chocolate and raspberry, carrot cake, then Christmas cake.

jessica.lanphere:  Those sound really good. Strawberry seems to be popular this year – both weddings FI and I attended had that flavour. We will be doing a chocolate cake and our cupcakes will be half chocolate and the other half will be vanilla.

kristen182:  Er, I actually thought this wasn’t a British thing, my bad 🙂

It’s a fruit cake but you make it super early – like October time, then every week/two weeks you pour brandy over it… dribble.

It’s really rich and moist, then it’s coated in marizan and royal icing.

We are doing an 8 tier cake, cake flavors as listed :

6″ chocolate/vanilla marble w/ vanilla filling

8″ red velvet w/ cream cheese filling

8″ carrot cake w/ cream cheese filling

10″ french vanilla w/ french vanilla filling

10″ french vanilla w/ milk chocolate filling

12″ german chocolate w/ vanilla filling

12″ dark chocolate w/ bevarian filling

14″ milk chocolate w/ milk chocolate filling

I picked the chocolate flavors, SO picked the vanilla flavors, the marble is a mix because we each like a different flavor, and the red velvet & carrot were just because.

skalovingbride:  5 flavors of regular sized cupcakes: S’mores, lemon vanilla, snickerdoodle, salted caramel and chocolate chip cookie dought and a bunch of mini classics: chocolate, vanilla and red velvet.  Then we’ll have a 6″ cake topper to cut and we haven’t selected a flavor yet, the options are limitless!

We are having a 3 tier cake all gluten free. The top and bottom will be pumpkin with dark chocolate mouse and butter cream, the middle chocolate with raspberry mouse.

Cake planning is far away. But I’d like to have a tiered “naked” cake, each tier being a different flavor. I kinda wanna ask my guests (hoping for under 50) what their favorite cake flavor is and try to choose the most popular. I see people do dessert tables, I think a variety of cake flavors is fine. Right now I’m sure we’ll have chocolate, vanilla, and carrot…maybe red velvet and strawberry. I’d like to do some more interesting flavors of course.

We had a banana nut cake with caramel buttercream frosting for our wedding cake (gluten free)  and red velvet with cream cheese frosting for the groom’s cake.
