I want some cake inspiration too! I am heading with my FMIL and mom on a weekend trip up north to pick out flowers and my cake next month! Can't wait :)

I don't know - sorry! I'm guessing I found the picture on a wedding blog or maybe project wedding. I looked at the info on my computer and the only thing I saw was that I saved it 3 years ago. I initially thought of doing some cupcakes and loved those, but I figured with all that detail they'd cost a fortune!

ohhh those are cool too! Now I'm going to search high and low for cupcake ideas! who doesn't love cupcakes!!! my friend who is the pastry chef at the hotel I work at is going to kill me now!! LOL
I love all of the cupcake ideas! Cupcakes just seem so much easier..everyone gets one, easy to hand out, not cutting, no mess!

Yea...I'm in love. :) I HAVE to have it! :) I was reluctant even to post it...i've never seen anything like it before! It's the best of cake/cupcake worlds!
I think I may have posted mines about a hundred times already but here it is...this is my inspiration...insert tons of edible red roses...red ribbon under the rhinestone ribbon....and you basically have my cake. I have this exact same cake topper.

I dont have a pic but I am having a cupcake tier (100 cupcakes) and then a 6'' fondant cake on top in hot pink with silver piped frosting in balls along the bottom of the 6". on top of the cake will be a sugary, glittery M that one of my two dogs she is making out of fondant will be chewing on. She's my fiance dog and she has chewed through our dry wall down to teh metal. He doesn't know about the fondant dogs on top of the cake. It's my little surpise to him! I also have her adding about 20 gelatin dragonflies that have black bodies and glittery hot pink wings (truly awesome, i had to have them when i saw them). just randonly placed on some cupcakes.
Yea, i'm so excited about it!!!! Sorry you have to imagine it....but here is a pic of my girls she'll be making into little fondant dogs for top of cake. The French Bulldog is the guilty one ;)
I know it's old school but I just love the elegance of fountain cakes. The lighting and the spacing make them look so romantic.

But our cake baker only uses buttercream, so she couldn't do a ribbon like this one. So this is what we're probably going with:
We'll use white butter cream frosting, and orange flowers on top -- either calla lilies or asian lilies.
Here's ours - blue ribbons on the bottom, green bear grass and some blue or green flowers at each meeting point

After a quote of almost $800 to feed 50 people we changed the design to just have think pink/black zebra ribbon around the bottom of white tiers.
OMG I love them all!! This is so much fun!! I love those DOGS!!!!! OMG how cute are they!!! my grooms cake is going to be a striped bass...he's an avid fisherman!!

Here is our cake. it's from Martha Stewart. I saw it and fell in love! The colors of the flowers will be different however, they will be green and yellow, which are our colors :)

This was the very first thing I was *sure* about after we got engaged! I just met with our cake lady and we're doing one tier chocolate cake with banana cream filling and the other tier vanilla cake with raspberry. Yum!

We're going to go with a Mad Hatter cake!! Nothing too crazy, but something like this (the shape, not the colors or designs!.. still have yet to decide on that!)
