@leedobler: I have used their flower services (not for a personal event for a work event) and everything we received was fantastic. I am sorry I don't know what the prices were like. Have you thought about ordering flowers through Costco?
Re: the cakes - they don't make their own cakes (anymore) they buy their cakes from bakeries. Would you like bakery suggestions?
I hope that info helps...
i am planning on using metro market for my flowers. i recently met with raul at the admiral [w seattle] location. and i am really excited!!
Thanks for the replies!
@kolsen206 - I've heard great things about Raul! Your flowers will be lovely. I met with someone at a different location because I want to pick up the flowers and West Seattle is not convenient for me.
@jackie-o - on their website you can order special occasion cakes that you can customize... do you know who they get their cakes from? I guess i need to call! I'm so tired of calling potential vendors!
@leedobler: i am so sorry i don't know where they come from. i learned this info from a gal here in my office, her husband works for met market and has been there for 29 years!
I got my flowers from Betty at the Upper Queen Anne Met Market. Honestly I was disappointed. I could've complained when I went to see them the day before, but I didn't want to take the time to. My bridesmaid bouquets were not handtied like they were supposed to, and all our bouquets started to fall apart a little bit. So definitely don't go there. The price however, was fantastic (get what you pay for!)
However, my friend got her flowers from Raul at West Seattle I think. Hers were beautiful and she was very happy.
i am using metro market for my flowers!
i am DIYing all my centerpieces with baby's breath, but am getting all of it from metro. They are giving me a really good deal and were willing to work with me and make a special order.
I looked into doing costco, but they only use certain flowers for their special requests. they have a hotline number, and you can just call it and place your order. all flowers are by the box.
if you want to order from costco and DONT want to make your own bouquets, then you can look online and they have some wedding packages (but very limited colors and styles).
let me know if u want more info!
I am also working with Raul from Met Market in West Seattle for my flowers! We met with him last month and he is so far wonderful to work with. However, I have to say, he is a busy guy! I have yet to put my deposit down because I'm still waiting for the contract.
Betty and Elizabeth at Met Market at the top of Queen Ann just did my wedding flowers (bridal bouquets) and they were exquisite. During the preview I wasnt' satisfied with the bridesmaid bouquets and they altered them to perfection. I highly recommend them.
DIY bride here: I'm going to pick out my flowers from Pike Place Market the day before the wedding and get my bridesmaids to help me organize the centerpieces and bouqets.

Has anyone used cake or flowers from Metropolitan Market? I am considering, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them? Are their cakes/baked goods tasty?
