That  is interesting! You just need a sheet of glass (from a local hardware store), vases from Walmart and strong epoxy.

If seen pictures where they put flowers or fruit like oranges under the glass for color and decoration.

I would add a vase in the center for extra support. I’m sure it would hold (unless you have a really giant, heavy cake) but I would do that just to be safe. 

Also, make sure the vases are all exactly the same height so the stand doesn’t wobble or have weak spots.
