My fiance and I are both in the Coast Guard. I really really wanted him to wear his uniform but he chose not to for the following reason:
His brother is an officer in the Marines and has a ton of medals! The CG doesn’t give out medals as often as other services so he has very few. He didn’t want to wear uniforms because he felt it would make him look not as important as his brother. That’s fine, I understand that, I believe I would feel the same way in his shoes.
I found a cake topper and I customize the bride and the groom. The groom is carrying his bride and she has her arms around his neck smiling at him. I have the option to put a CG uniform on him and then put his CG hat on the bride. It’s an adorable topper.
What I wanted to know was…would it weird to do this topper even though he will be wearing a tux for the wedding? We met in the Coast Guard and I thought it would be a cool way to connect the source of our relationship and I wasn’t sure how else to do it.
Thanks for all opinions

@UJSMCWG06: I think it would still be adorable to have him in his uniform.
But In My Humble Opinion I also feel like he shouldnt let his brother having more metals keep him actually wearing his either! But I love me a man in uniform lol

I agree with MsPanda. 🙂 But, whether or not he chooses to wear his uniform, I totally think you should decorate your topper the way you have planned. It’s a perfect way to display who you are! Please post a pic if you do decide to decorate it that way! 🙂

Definitely personalize your cake topper with his uniform.

No way, that will be super cute!! It is a good way to still incorporate the uniform even if he won’t be wearing it

I say go for it. The topper sounds adorable. I also agree that he shouldn’t do away with wearing his uniform just because his brother has more medals than he does. I also love a man in uniform. My Fiance is retired Air Force and my dad a Marine as well as his brothers, mother and father.
