What about a different kind of cake topper?  There are some funny ones out there nowadays (I love the one with the couple playing xbox!) Or do you have a certain theme to the wedding?

For example, we had a fish theme b/c we met on Plenty of Fish.  So we had our baker design kissing fish out of the fondant in place of the usualy cake topper.

We ordered our caketopper from Keren in Mudcards via Etsy. They are pricey though, but everything is completely personalized. I am looking forward in getting ours, the pic above is just an example what kind of style she has, it’s not the one we ordered.

I came up with an awesome idea ( at least i think it is) instead of a bride and groom topper that you will use one time in your entire life, I am going to find a vintage Salt and Pepper shaker pair that will be our topper. That way we can use them everyday and they will deffinately be unique. This is the set I want to get:

Can you find “humanoid” bride and groom and then have him carry a small key (like a charm) and her a small heart? or vice versa?

@hiroshymatetrastar:  Yeah if you have your hearts set on something you should not give it up. Maybe if theres a reasonably priced Etsy cake topper maker, you can contact them to have one custom made?

@Mithralia:  I ordered mine from the same place!!!  Love her work, mine was $127, so maybe not what OP has in mind…

I got mine from Simply Shilouettes on Etsy:

and LOVED it…it was only $50 and so personalized. The seller was a joy to work with also.

And yes, that is our profiles in the “O.” Please excuse our horendous cake…it was NOT what we ordered…but it was the only thing that was wrong that day—so I can’t complain too much. thank goodness the topper saved it!
