Hello! I’m helping an overwhelmed bride do research on bakeries in the Houston area. We are both in So. California, and neither of us are very familiar with Houston or the surrounding area.
Can anyone make any recommendations for a bakery? It’s looking to be approximately 170 guests, and bride would also like to get a groom’s cake.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I used Carrie Made the Cake for grooms cake and it was fabulous. Posting from my phone so linking is a pain, you can google her. Cake was exactly what we asked for, tasted better than my wedding cake and great price.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yelp has been an abysmal let down so far 🙁

We have eaten so many Cakes by Gina, I’ve lost count! She is very popular and her cakes are very good! Our clients seem to be happy with her.

Who Made The Cake has always had the best cakes, I’ve been to two weddings this year with their cakes and they were amazing (especially the chocolate groom’s cake!). They do the creative groom’s cakes really well, they always have a pretty amazing spread of groom’s cakes at the bridal expos. Another bakery that’s not as famous but absolutely incredible is Epicure – we order their cakes for all family events (we ordered a cake from them for our engagement party). Epicure seems to specialize in lighter cakes with fruit or cream fillings – they are always really fresh and light and really really good.

I know this is an old thread, but Three Brothers Bakery makes BEAUTIFUL and delicious wedding cakes! My parents used them for their wedding, their 20th reunion vow renewal, and i will use them whenever I get married!

@allieant: +1. I’ve had their cake before, and it’s incredible.
