hi bay area brides…i would love your help/suggestion on some affordable vendors…
i’m hoping for a cakery that can make a speciality shaped cake…
as for dress, nothing too crazy…as long as the bridal shop as a decent selection at affordable prices.
Our videographer price range is pretty low..~$500..we’re not looking for anything fancy, just some raw footage.

for cakes, i’m going to be checking out twofortwo cakes and inticing creations, both in san francisco. they don’t have storefronts but their cakes and flavors look awesome. not sure what price range you are looking for, but they start at $5 per slice and had very reasonable delivery charges. that was a lot lower than i found at other places.
for dresses, if you really want a bargain, you may want to try glamour closet in sf, which has marked off designer dresses. i hear it can be hit or miss though.
for photographers, i had a really hard time. for that price range, i think craigslist would be a good bet–i remember seeing some for $800 or so.

The Pros is good for inexensive raw videography. But, I found my videographer on craigslist. That was an excellent resource for photography and videography. Good luck!

I highly recommend Stephen Loewinsohn for photography. His starting price is $800 for 6 hrs and 25 prints. You can pay extra/later for the CD of images ($400 add’l). He was featured in Rock n’ Roll Bride.
Dorothy Hatchel is also excellent and offers a great package from $1,500 to $3,500.
If we hadn’t won our photography from Davina + Daniel, either of these photographers were our choices!
