We are doing a Beer and Wine only bar. We are providing all of the alcohol ourself also. We have asked one of our friends that just got married how much alcohol they went through.
This left me questioning is there an actual way to calculate this or can any of the bee’s tell me how much they used?

There is a powerful wedding alcohol calculator that will calculate cost and quantity of alcohol needed at:
By the way, congrats on your wedding, I’ve got a friend getting married on the same date, and my wedding is the week before 🙂

I can only tell you what my experience was…
We had 80 guests, all adults. We bought 18 bottles of champagne, 5 cases of wine (3 red, 2 white), and 12 cases of beer. We ran out of champagne early. All of the wine was finished, but not before the party ended. We returned 4 cases of beer, so we would have only needed 8.
We also had two cases of Diet Coke, one case of Coke, and 2 cases of sparkling water. The water got finished, but the soda was barely touched.
Big caveats: I knew that if we offered champagne, it would get finished. We just had a champagne-loving crowd and we had super yummy bubbly. I should have ordered at least 2 cases. We got married in Northern California, where the wine is fabulous, and many of our guests were from out of town, so I should have known that wine would be more popular than beer. I should have ordered another 1-2 cases of wine, and cut back on beer.
The last thing you want is to run out of booze, so I would buy from a store that lets you return unopened bottles of wine/cases of beer and buy more than you think you need. (I don’t know what stores are near you, but I know that Costco and BevMo let you return. So do most independent stores.)
