I've never seen that advertised here because we don't really have that many sharks. The water is really cold in the Pacific and sharks are more warm water dwellers. You would have better luck finding this in places like Hawaii, Florida or Mexico.
South Africa....I was going to do it there until my research ship got rerouted to Namibia (I was a marine biologist for 9 years). While so cal does have sharks, i've not looked into whether that type of thing exists there. I could imagine it would be very hit or miss. Sharks are not actually more warm water dwellers. Cold waters are more productive and have more food sources for them. But, at the same time, there may not be an industry that supports cage diving there.
As far as I know, and I could be wrong, but I don't think you can do the cage diving with sharks thing without a scuba cert. My FI has looked into this a lot (it's one of his life goals), and he's told me that he has to do the scuba cert first.
I found a place that does Great Whites off the coast of San Fran..

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Mr. R and I are going to be spending a few days in California, and I would really really like to cross swimming with sharks off my life list!
I'm not into the whole open water thing.. just a cage that's off the side of the boat, where you snorkle and they bait them to you.
Any ideas of where we can go?
Thanks!!!
