i haven’t purchased my dresses yet, but i will definitely bee a 2 or more dress bride. why? there are just so many darn pretty dresses out there! i don’t anticipate spending too much on one dress, so i can justify it that way. whatever i have to tell myself……..Wink

i’m a two dress bride. it’s typical to change a few times in my culture. my first will be a more traditional “western” wedding gown – offwhite, floor length, with a veil. i’ll change into a chinese qipao for the cake cutting. it’s also white, but with red trim. i wasn’t counting on being a 2 dress originally (despite cultural traditions) but it just kinda happened along the way.

the 1st one i bought and probably paid too much for. the 2nd one is a gift from my mum and has been made to my measurements by a family friend.

i’m curious to know why you’re posing this question tho – are you thinking of being a 2 dress bride? do you think it’s excessive?

I’m a two dress bride and what is rather embarassing is that I bought both dresses on the same day.  Eeeekkkk!!

I found one of the dresses at a tent sale at a local bridal salon and it was very cheap.  It wasn’t really “me” but I bought it because it was such a great deal.  BAD IDEA!!!

My BM that I went shopping with and I decide to go look at MORE dresses and I found THE one.  I really wish I could go back in time and listen to my gut and not have bought the first dress, but what’s done is done.  Boo.

sorry, i misunderstood your initial question.  well technically i bought 2 dresses when i bought my wedding gown as well. i fell in love with my gown but was worried my parents would find it too plain. so i bought another dress that was on sample sale as well that was more “traditional”. i talked myself into wearing my gown for other formal events (it’s more a destination gown so i thought i might be able to pull that off).

by the time i got home, i’d realised my mistake. i called up the salon and begged / pleaded to get a refund. they gave me most of my money back recently when i went in for my 2nd fitting.

I’m a 2 dress bride… oops.

See, I had this look in mind of what a garden wedding should look like. So I went with the dress that fit in that look – all lace, not poofy, etc.

Enter Dress #1 – the Nora by POB (which is the first picture).

When I went with my BMs to try on a sample so they could see it, I kind of had a panic attack that it wasn’t the right dress for me. Trying it on again only confirmed that. So another whirlwind weekend of shopping and I found the dress that was just perfect for me.

Enter Dress #2 – Marisa 692 (which is the second picture).

Obviously, they’re pretty different from each other. But I’m really excited about my new dress and am currently trying to sell my first one!

I can’t believe that I am a 2 dress bride because I am a very decisive person BUT….I went shopping very quickly after I got engaged and had NO idea what I was looking for. I was persuaded by the sales consultant and friends to purchase the first gown (I had a bad feeling in the it of my stomach as I was buying it).

Dress 1: Oleg Cassini

After I purchased it, I tried to convince myself that it was “the one” but finally realized that it just wasn’t it. After looking at A LOT more dresses, I realized exactly what I wanted and luckily found it 🙂

Dress 2 (my dream gown): Pronovias – Dagen

I was very blessed that I was able to get a full refund on the first dress so it worked out perfectly!!!
