LOVE the Torreon dress. *swoon*
BellaNouvelle makes jewelry JUST LIKE the one you're wearing. I wore the Sabrina and it was sparkly and only $85. I see the bracelet you want is $770! Same look.
I love chandelier earrings. However, i think drops would be better, you do have a busier dress and the bracelet is a big impact piece, Chandeliers are too much, but a slightly elaborate drop earring would be muy fab. I'm partial--I wore elaborate drops. Almost did chandeliers, but they much too much on me.
I'm almost 6 feet tall also, YAY! I linked you my recaps; i had a strapless fit and flair dress. I wore drop earrings, a veil, a hair flower (just for the reception tho), and that bracelet. I also wore mom's diamond pendant. It didn't get lost on me, but it wasn't overwhelming. I had a busy neckline, too. I couldn't NOT wear a necklace. Seriously, i had to have one. This was perfect and floated perfectly on my bustline.
Anyways you might get a good idea based on what I wore. I'm sort of a flashy accessory person though, and lots of people are into simpliciuty. Everyone who knows me knows jewelry is sorta my "thing" and i always go for bold pieces. A simple string of pearsl wouldn't have worked for me.
Thanks, ejs4y8! For posting your pics and for the great advice! Your wedding was AMAZING! I am just blown away! :)
I'm freaking out that our bracelets are so similar (btw, mine is not the $700 version but a less expensive Michelle Miller version) and I love how it shows up in your photos. Love your earrings and necklace and your dress is GORGEOUS.... swoon! Can I ask who the designer is of your dress and necklace/earrings? But you know, your greatest accessory that day was truly your lovely glow and beaming smile. That is just priceless. You looked absolutely beautiful! awwwwwww. :)
I wear chandeliers all the time but they just don't work with my dress so I know what you mean, drop earrings just seem like the right way to go.
I love necklaces but just can't find anything that works with my dress. To make up for the lack of necklace I was considering a rhinestone headband/headpiece but then I found that Maria Elena flower so I gave up the headband idea. Maybe I can change to a headband for the reception to give it more sparkle and just wear the flower for the ceremony? If my wedding was outdoors or more casual I'd be content with just the drop earring and no necklace but since we are having such a huge reception, I feel like I need just a bit more jewelry.
Again, love your pics! Gotta ask... did you wear heels? ;)
I too will be outfitted in the Torrean next year for my wedding. I decided against wearing a neacklace to keep from taking away from the gown, I will be doing hanging pearl and diamond earings with bracelet to match. Good luck to you finding wat your looking for.
Oh you are much too kind!!! i'm so thrilled inside to know my wedding makes such a big impact. I worked on it for so long I was less than "blown away" by the results, just pleased that everything turned out well!
I wore the Maggie Sottero Irene and I got it for $400! My necklace and earrings were borrowed from my mom--she's had them for about 30 years! Can't really help you on that one, lol. The earrings were a round pearl, then a cluster of diamonds, then a big tear drop pearl. The necklace was a fat marquise shaped. In the middle was a marquise diamond, and then surrounded by a cluster of little tiny round diamonds to make up the fat marquise shaped. It was like one big stone amidst a sea of stones (not a halo style).
Personally, I like the idea of a necklace much more than a headband! You could find a simple pendant. Moisannite is affordalbe (and sparkly) or you could do a funky blue sapphire. I think as long as it's a simple pendant-sytle you're good to go. Even a reftangular style one would be neat. I definitely don't think a necklace will be "too much" even though your dress is busy--when else do you get to bling out, right?! I got lots of compliments on my jewelry, so as long as it all goes together, you should be good. I feel naked in a strapless dress without a necklace, too, by the way. No matter what! I bet you can put an alchemy bid on Etsy and have some drop earrings and a necklace made that goes with the look of your bracelet =]. I sent Bella Nouvelle pictures of my earrings and necklace and asked her what would look best from her collection.
Haha, no heels. I'm actually 1/2" taller than him. He went out and bought his own dress shoes b/c tuxedo shoes are so flat. And shiny. lol. I wore the Anne Klein Alontae sandals in white. They were flat AND i got to wear them after the wedding. I wear them all the time now. Love them. And way comfy
found these earrings... whatcha guys think? they go with the chunky pearl/rhinestone bracelet:
Nice def a plus. They will look real pretty with our dress;)
Had a problem posting the pics to the other message. Here's the dress and hat.
I'm ordering the torrean. I tried it on today with big chandeliers (in store) the earrings were larger but the actual stones on the earring were very delicate, which almost matched the tiny sparkles in the middle of the flowers on the dress. Although the earrings were big, they didn't overwhelm the dress or my face. I really really think that this dress doesn't need a necklace. If you want to wear one b/c you like necklaces, keep it simple and it will look great, but if you just think you should b/c it's extra sparkle or b/c brides are allowed to go all out, don't.
You already have: Hair (I count this as an accessory sort of, like you), earrings, hair flower, and veil. Plus the neckline of the Torrean is active and the bust is active too. that's already 6 things competing against your face. No necklace. But that's just me :)
@BrennaMac: I didn't wear a necklace with the dress and I'm so happy with that decision! Thanks for your input. :)
Hi Aroosa!
I didn't get a necklace for the same reason outlined in your post - it might clash with the bodice..
I bought these chandelier earrings from Perfect Details online to go with the dress, it is even more beautiful in person!

I love jewelry and accessorizing but for some reason I am stumped when it comes to my own dress! Here's the jewelry and accessories that I have bought for the dress:
Earrings - pretty standard simple drop cz's. But should I go for Chandeliers? Or simple studs? That's what I'm struggling with right now.
Marita Bracelet by Michelle Miller of MMM Jewelry that I LOVE. This piece is staying! For some reason I couldn't link or past the pic but it looks really similar to this one:

Hair Flower by Maria Elena (see pic) LOVE this one. Made from the satin on my dress. Yay! Has pearls and rhinestones.
Cathedral Veil with Blusher: Cathedral portion is detachable and then blusher converts to regular veil if I want to keep it in for the reception.
Hair will most likely be half up/half down a la Tiffani Amber-Thiessan's wedding style or side ponytail. So either way, hair will be partially down and I tend to think hair down acts as another accessory and pushes me away from a necklace.
Plus, everyone who has seen my dress has said that I shouldn't wear a necklace since there is flower applique with rhinestones on the top part of the dress. The rhinestones are flat back round swarovski crystals. Clear crystal does not work with the dress. Pearls do but only when paired with rhinestones like the bracelet. But because the dress is strapless, I feel a bit bare. And did I mention that I am tall? LOL Six feet to be exact so I am not afraid to wear big pieces! It can be a blessing and a curse though... delicate pieces can look lost on me.
I visited the Swarovski store today by my house and there were some amazing necklaces that had me reconsidering my decision to not wear one but it's probably because they look just so striking under that light! However, I do love how Melania Knauss pulled off her wedding look - big necklace, no earrings. The lady at Swarovski gasped when I started trying on their stud earrings. She said "It's your WEDDING". Duh, lady. But I don't want to look like a Swarovski billboard. I want to look like me. But I am having a HUGE 600 person wedding so I can afford to look more formal. See... this is what I do, go back and forth. Agggghhh. :)
So, I was leaning towards pearl or diamond studs. i just love when I see pics of brides and you see the brides face and bridal silhouette and not her big jewelry. But I am confused and thought I would reach out to you experts here on Wedding Bee. ;)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading, Bees.
