How fast does your hair grow? And are you trying to grow it out currently? I'm trying to grow mine out to it's original length (to my elbows) and I have about another 3-4 inches to go :)

My hair grows quite quickly, so definitely by next summer. I think it's because I rarely get split ends (It's been 10 weeks since my last haircut and I haven't had any)

@NehaPrasad92: I'm not sure how fast my hair grows but I think that it grows fast I think maybe about 5 inches per year but I have really long hair.

@NehaPrasad92: Mine grows about average I would say (1/2 an inch per month/6 inches per year). I don't use any heat or styling products on it, I braid it for bed so it doesn't tangle and I sleep with a satin pillowcase. I also massage my scalp twice a day to encourage circulation and make it grow just a tish faster. I do trim it when it gets tangly so that it can get rid of the splits and keep growing nicely, but that's only 3 or 4 times a year and I only trim off about a half an inch.

I'm so jealous that your hair grows so quickly! I've been growing it out for about 5 or 6 years from chin length. Here's where I'm at so far (August pic), so it's about another inch or two longer than that and I'll probably get another inch or two in by the wedding. Calling all Bees - QUESTION about hair : wedding hair growth long short medium haircut time Hair

I'm also trying to grow my hair out. I think it grows about 1/2" to 1" per month, which I think is about average. I also don't get split ends, which I'm  grateful for because I'm lazy about getting my hair cut.

For those of you who ARE trying to grow your hair, I've been taking sea kelp and horsetail supplements. Though my hair grows fast anyway, this basically speeds it up hugely and is also wonderful for your nails too. And it's making my hair look much stronger and more nicer than before lol :)

Also I cannot stress the importance of drinking lots of water and a good diet with all your vitamins for growing your hair out.

@NDBee:Your hair is gorgeous! Mine used to be a few inches or so longer than that (then I got fed up with it and chopped off about 5 inches - it took about an hour and a half to straighten it, because it's naturally thick and curly lol) But your hair looks in such good condition!

    Hi there,

I now have shoulder length hair but I grew mine from this length to my hips in a couple years-really quite fast.  Anyway, my best advice is to not cut (I never had full trims that whole time, I just "dusted" which was picking out any split ends and just cutting those) and to use extra virgin unrefined coconut oil and/or argan (morrocan) oil in the ends at least once a week.  A light oil can be used daily in the ends-just barely touch it on.  Also, wide tooth combs only-especially with wet hair.  And you might look into a brush called the TangleTeazer from Sally's beauty supply.  It is marvelous.

@NehaPrasad92: Thank you :-) Thankfully it dries straight after I comb it through once, and I've never dyed it or styled it (minus some 3rd grade perms my mother insisted on...oof!) Haha. So it's pretty healthy since I just leave it alone. I'm hoping I can hit elbow length by March after my final trim. Eep! It's coming up so soon.

@goldendreams: Totally agree on the wide tooth comb! I only ever use it wet or dry, and I always spray in VO5 Detangling Spray before combing out my wet hair. Your hair grows so fast, very lucky gal!

Lovely hair! I wish mine dried straight haha! It would make things so much easier! I think long hair is so versatile, especially with some layers chopped into it...

I love seeing how much mine has grown, and I'm definitely going to maintain it better once it's long! I didn't really do much with it when it was long beforehand, but now that will definitely change!

Mine grows pretty fast. I cut over a foot over in March and donated it, and it's grown from chin-length to 3" below my shoulder in that time (so, about 7-8" so far). I'd like to grow it to elbow-length again, but wavy hair can be such a pain when it's that long. (I also don't like to think of how many boxes of dye I'll have to buy to maintain my color when it's that long.)

I get a trim every couple of months--I know it's recommended that you trim every 6-8 weeks, but I don't really have the cash to do it that often. I take a B vitamin complex with biotin, and I think that's helped it grow, though I've always had fast-growing hair.

I've been trying to grow my hair out for years and it's finally started growing! I'm also starting Biotin, so hopefully that will help. Have any of you used it before?

Nope, I just take my vitamins and my horsetail and sea kelp tablets. But things like that are brilliant for hair and nails and skin etc...

This is when it was long (past my elbows! I was gettng ready for my May Ball, hence why I am 'decked up' lol)

Calling all Bees - QUESTION about hair : wedding hair growth long short medium haircut time Long

This is when I first had it cut:

Calling all Bees - QUESTION about hair : wedding hair growth long short medium haircut time Medium

I had it cut even SHORTER after this but it was truly terrible... no photos of that are going up!

And this is it now. Most of it is hidden away but I'm giving it about 8 more months and it should be about 4 inches longer!

I'd say my hair grows a little less than an inch a month or so. I've been taking some heavy duty vitamins (per dr's orders) and I'm hoping that they may also help. Getting regular trims doesn't seem to be a bad thing, and has been keeping it in good shape.

@ItsHollyAgain:Fair game. I wouldn't mind getting trims (my layers look super shabby and my fringe is badly outgrown) but I'm super lazy about getting my hair cut. Lucky I don't get split ends lol!

Any other Bees? And any other Bees with tips for growing your hair faster?

My hair stylist said that it grows 1/4 to 1/2 a month.  I feel like mine has been slow.  I've gone from chin length to about an inch past my shoulder in a year.

Biotin and pre natal vitamins are excellent for hair and nail growth!
