I have platinum blonde, almost white hair, and I’m trying to decide how close to the wedding I should have my color done. My stylist says I should do it the day before so it looks perfect in the pics, but I’m a DIY bride and I can’t spend several hours in the salon the day before my wedding!
Anyway – when are you having your color done before the wedding?

I have dark blonde hair naturally and I get highlights twice a year. I think my hair usually looks best 4-5 days after I get it done. Depending on the shade of blonde sometimes the color needs to wash out a little bit to get to that perfect color.

@Weetzie: I’m a Cosmo and I’d say even if you did it a week out your hair would look great 🙂 You can do a quick clear glaze over your hair the night before to make it SUPER shiny for your wedding day! That’s something you could do at a salon, or pick up at Sally’s and do at home yourself 🙂

@Weetzie: I’d recommend a clear glaze anyways because it seals your color! 🙂

@Weetzie: Why not a few days before?

Well I’m a natural dark blonde and I get highlights (though I haven’t for about a year) and I like my hair best immediately after it’s done but a few days to a week before is probably just as good.

@Weetzie: I’m a natural blonde – dirty – but get highlights regularly. I did mind the week prior. Heaven forbid your hair doesn’t turn out right, it gives you some time to fix it. I would do 5-7 days before.

@canarydiamond: I have a very short pixie cut, so any growth is pretty noticeable. I have very dark brown hair naturally. I have roots after like a week! Although I’m sure they are only super noticeable to me.
