Hit me with your best spot in Canada…
we want to come over there for our honeymoon. Have a few ideas of where to go.. But give me your best sales pitch!
Where to go, what to do… We are adventurous, romantics, love eating out being in the buzz of it all, but we are willing to go hiking, take on the sights.. and we both love shopping.

Montreal!!!!!! I used to live there and my heart still lives there. Amazing food, free outdoor festivals all summer long, so many things to do..romantic (carriage rides in Old Montreal), artsy, and did I mention THE FOOD? It’s a great mix of North American and European, and from Montreal you can easily get to great outdoor areas.
I should say though that we are 95% sure going to Vancouver for our honeymoon (we live in Korea but are having weddings in Seoul and my hometown near Toronto, so Vancouver is a good middle place). So, I may have a different opinion on how great Vancouver is when I start researching about that city.
(and – we are nearly date twins – we’re just having a Sunday wedding instead of the Saturday)

The Ontario girl in me is crying out TORONTO, but having visited Vancouver last summer, I can’t think of a better place to go for beautiful scenery, amazing food and great shopping.
You’ve got the ocean and the mountains at your doorstep so pretty much anywhere you look is a stunning view. There are beaches if you just want to chill out, but you can also go hiking in the mountains or head up to Whistler for the day.
The only downside is perhaps the weather…that being said, when we were there in August, it was beautiful and sunny every day.
At the end of the day, Canada in the summer is a pretty amazing place to be, so wherever you choose I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time!

@londongirl – My Canadian wedding is in London!^^ We’re getting married at Windermere.

The London in my name is actually for London England (that’s where I currently live!). That being said, I stalked your venue and it looks lovely!

I recommend Jasper/Banff. ‘Tis beautiful.
Plus. I grew up next to the mountains, so I may be a tad biased. 😀

I’m an Ontario girl so I want to say Toronto too… but Victoria is gorgeous. I guess Toronto if you want the bigger city feel and there is nature around (you’ll just have to drive for a bit). Victoria if you want to be near the mountains, but still have a beautiful city around you. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think a flight to Vancouver (which is by Victoria) from Australia would be less expensive, too.

EXCITEMENT.. such a beautiful country. Looking at flights too. not cheap.. but well who cares, paying to see such a beautiful sight.. (not telling my FH tho, Im telling him its reasonable) hehe.

I might be a litle biaised since I am from Quebec City, but it’s seriously one of the most beautiful city I have visited (and lived in). You could even do a combo with Montreal since it’s only 3 hours away.

I second all the choices for BC – the scenery is just gorgeous. But as a warning it is really expensive also.
For a cheaper option Northorn Ontario is just gorgeous also. Algonquin is 4 hours north of Toronto and Kilarny is a bit farther but my favourite spot in Ontario. There is even a couples resort up near Algonquin. Whats great about this spot is you are driving distance to TO (4 hours) and Ottawa (3 hours) and Montreal (2 hours from Ottawa).
Enjoy googling CANADA!!!!

i am from vancouver and yes there is lots to do here. many of my friends who have had local honeymoons have gone to whistler for the theirs. and there is a lot to do depending on time of year!

yeah if you’re looking for outdoors, but still in a city with lots of stuff to do i totally recommend the vancouver area. clearly you’ve got the mountains, but then there’s other things like gorgeous lakes, rivers where you can jump off the bridges to swim, and my *personal* favourite, othello tunnels.
you can easily take a day trip on the ferry to visit the island, but i will never ever want to stop going to vancouver. i miss it like, every day.

Okay seriously, Vancouver is lovely, but screw that. Go to Newfoundland! Gros Morne National Park is the most BEAUTIFUL place I have ever seen in my life!!!!! We spent about two weeks there in July and I am DYING to go back. I would love to spend an entire summer there. Newfoundland is unlike any place I have ever been, and is off the beaten track. Most Canadians have never even gone. The people are amazing, the scenery is more like New Zealand than typical “Canada”. Best trip of my life and I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over North America, Europe and Africa. I can’t speak highly enough of Newfoundland, the incredible people we met there, and the amazing memories we made.

Oh my GOD I second bakerella and suggest Newfoundland!!!! It is so beautiful and adventurous. Also it is on the cheaper side! Also, check out Nova Scotia. I am from there and you cannot get much more beautiful.
Other than that, Quebec city is wonderful. And you could do both Montreal and Quebec city if you want the big city feel (Montreal).
