A question charter-bees:
I stopped the pill at the end of Aug, and am currently on CD 28 of cycle 3. I’m not ovulating, but seem to be having “regular” cycles – in that the first was 39 days, the second 41, and it seems like I’m on track for another 40 day one.
Is it possbile to have “regular” cycles without actually ovulating, or is this just coincidence?
Here’s my chart: http://tcoyf.com/members/Canadianmomtobe/charts/3.aspx
I had high hopes for this month, but then I got a fever, and a sore toe, and ended up taking lots of NSAID pain releivers, and i’m afraid it messed up/delayed potential o 🙁

Maybe someone else who has been charting for longer than me can better answer this, but my understanding from reading TCOYF was that anovulatory bleeding can happen fairly regularly. Also, those meds & the fever could delay o, so it could still be coming…

@anotherbee: 40 days is on the long side for cycles, and it’s not uncommon for such long cycles to be annovulatory. I do think that being sick this month could have been the reason for a delayed or non existant O. I ovulated regularly during ttc, but didn’t O one month until like day 25 because I got sick.
Anyway, I wouldn’t be super concerned quite yet, since it can be pretty common to have irregular or annovulatory cycles coming off bcp. But I’d keep tracking and if you’re not seeing any temp shift or other signs of O for another few months, it might be worth checking in with your doc. Good luck!

@MerryC: Thanks. That’s my plan.
Once we actively start TTC (prob in Feb) if i’m still not oing, then I’ll be calling the dr. I know it can take some time, so I’m not concerned.
I just wanted to know if they annov bleeding might be regular..seemed weird to me that it would be since there’s nothing “chemically” going on to induce it.
Here’s hoping for a late o!

@78h2o: Thanks too! I haven’t actually read the book yet, but it’s good to know it says that the annov bleeding can be regular.
