We went on a vacation to Ireland right after we got engaged and saw tons of these, but I didn’t learn what the meaning of these rings were until we came home and I googled it.  I was sad I didn’t buy one while we were there!   Such a cool symbolic touch!! Congrats!

I have three claddagh rings. I was given them at various stages of my life by my grandparents so two no longer fit (childrens sizes) and I am holding onto them for my niece. My adult size one is just a plain rose gold one- nothing fancy πŸ™‚

I don’t own a claddagh ring, altough I used to. I’ve been thinking of replacing it sometime soon, and found this:

and I think I’m in love. A little pricey, right now, but *someday*…

My grandmother gave me her mother’s yellow gold claddagh ring when I was 16, because I said in a newspaper article that I said I was proud of being Irish πŸ™‚ I wore it everyday until my SO at the time (now DH!) and I went to Ireland together. There, I replaced it with a simple silver claddagh that I always wear on my right middle finger. I still have my great-grandmother’s ring in a safe place, and I hope to pass it along to one of my children someday and keep the tradition going! I love the meaning behind claddaghs and that it’s a way to show my pride in my Irish heritage.

Here’s mine.  I’ve had it for a while.  It’s 14K yellow gold and its pretty heavy.  It was given to me by my dad years and years ago.

@Mrs Christopher:  LOVE IT

@Crazyhair:  what band did you get to go with it?

I wear the one my DA gave ma Ma on their 25th wedding anniversary, even at my wedding(index finger).

i’m sorry but I think the story behind the claddagh is way more ..romantic..life long romance .. then a diamond.

I have a diamond, but he also gave me a claddagh
