Its only been happening on dafont.com; no other sites. Its the first time I've tried to open it on my computer (3 years old)... I'd browsed it before with FI's 2 year old laptop and the site opened fine...
Try clearing your cache. Go to tools, internet options, click "delete," then click "delete all." Or if you don't want to lose your saved passwords, delete the cookies and the temporary internet files. I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a shot. Otherwise, upgrade your IE or download a free copy of Mozilla.
To check your version, go to the top menu bar, select HELP > About Internet Explorer.
Ok, I've downloaded IE 8, and cleared all of the cookies. Still no dice. Now I'll try to download a mozillafirefox and see if that works.
I was a history major. Totally not tech savy.
GRRR! Still no dice on the mozilla. Dang it; I guess I'll have to use FI's laptop all afternoon. (harumph).
Any other suggestions?
Oh that sucks! I do have a problem on my laptop with pages loading properly in IE though... so I'm always using mozilla.
I can't help, but I can take your mind off the problem lol. What were you going to use the fonts for? Any fabulous DIY wedding related projects??
Recessionista- Dude, we're in the middle of making a Save the Date Pamphlet... no little postcard or magnet for us! check my blog to see the latest! It'll fold horizontally into 4 parts, and vertically into 2 parts, to be like a National Park Service brochure...
It sounds like a cache problem, but if you've already tried that... AND it doesn't work from another browser, you might want to check your firewall settings. It's possible that the firewall has blocked for whatever reason. And I can't really help you with that since I don't know what firewall software you're using. I also know know about 2 or 3 different specific firewalls, so I don't think I can be much help.
It looks great CHK! I commented on your blog & I started following you :)
I think I can download fonts on his laptop, save them to my removeable hard drive, and then install them on my laptop. Nothing like adding extra steps...

Why can't I get dafont.com to open up on my laptop, but I can get it to open on my FI's? I keep getting a "the gateway timed out" notification...
