Hi Bees. I am the least creative person in the world. I made wishing trees last weekend. We are going to have a tray of skeleton keys and people would have to attach one to a note that has a piece of advice on marriage and then hang it to the tree. We’re calling it “Keys to a Happy Marriage” (saw this on style me pretty). Anyway, I made the trees. I feel like they are so boring. What can I add to it? I don’t want to add anything to the branches since there will evenutally be keys. Should I add anything to the glass bowls? Ribbon? Bah! I would love to hear your suggestions… here they are…
thanks in advance!

I think they are beautiful. You’re selling yourself short on your lack of creativity, because I think they’re great.
What is your color scheme? Is the green of that grass stuff part of your colors? You could change that out for ribbons in your color? I wouldn’t add too much to it, put it on a table with a pretty tablecloth and let the beauty of it speak for itself.
For our wishing tree we had our wishing cranes already hanging on the trees and people took a blank one off, wrote their message, and then hung it back up. That way the tree didn’t start off being completely naked and we didn’t rely on random people to hang them up in a visually pleasing way for pictures.

I love the look of the trees already. I love the natural look of the rocks and grass. I think they’re great the way they are! Maybe if you’re feeling they’re too plain you could just add some pretty, low, simple flower arrangements on the table. The keys will add a ton of interest to the trees, so you don’t need to worry about them looking too plain.

@kala_way: thank you so much! I think I’m going to have a few family members do a couple of messages and put it on before the reception so people know what to do lol. The green isn’t really a part of our color scheme (purple and slate grey and espresso brown) however, there will be some green moss in the bridesmaids bouquets. I wanted some neutrals for a nature look. We’re also going to have some frosted candles on the table too, so I think that will help.
@BuzzBuzz: Good point! I really like this idea. It’s just hard to vision the trees with the keys so of course I doubt myself ! 🙂 Thanks for your suggestions.
