HI San Diego Bees!
Just wanted to share my giddiness with all of you; We booked the Darlington House for our wedding in April! We’re tacking on an extra hour for the fee. I’m just so excited, and my Fiance loves the place, too. He’s been so awesome in wedding planning, and I am so thrilled to be marrying him.
This is the only thing we’ve booked for the wedding. There’s a lot to do; I know many of you April ’13 brides are way ahead of me, but I am looking forward to it all. 🙂
Anyone else book the Darlington House and want to share in planning stories? When are your weddings, and how is your planning going? Especially experiences with their list of preferred caterers?
Maybe this can be the thread to discuss everything going on for DHouse brides, and anyone else that wants to join in!

Hi!!!! I JUST had my wedding there!! I looooved the Darlington House! The down side is that you have to be out by 10 at the latest. We paid $600 to add on extra hours and get more time and then had an after party at Barfly afterwards. It’s a stunning venue and the girl’s room to get ready is one of my favorite places! Our planner was Amorology who I LOVE!! She is incredible! We also had Crown Point Catering who was recommened as the best by several different vendors and they were sooooo worth it! The ladies who work at the Darlington House are volunteers and its not like they have repeat customers or anything so they can get a little snippy with people, I’ve heard. I don’t think that happened at my wedding but I’ve heard that it does. But I really feel that any cons are majorly outweighed by the pros! Its just such a stunning venue!!! Message me with any questions!!!

Wooohoo!! Thanks so much 😀
I am contemplating adding two instead of only one extra hour! It does suck that we have to be out by 10, but I booked anyway b/c like you said, the pro’s totally outweigh those cons!
We SO wanted Crown Point Catering and heard so many good things about them, but our budget for ~170 people is at most 9k. Maybe I should ask them for a proposal before I write them off based on the prices I saw on the website.
Anyway, you had such a beautiful wedding!! The pix you posted are making me so excited for ours! As things fall into place more with the planning, I may message you for the insider information 😉

I just booked for August 2013 at the Darlington House and am sooo excited! When I stepped foot through the doors, I just knew it was it!
I’m working with the Abby for our catering and right now I’m trying to solidify a photographer and music (I’m thinking DJ). Any DJ recommendations!?
