I am throwing a destination wedding Oahu, HA, and my plan is to have the ceremony on a plot of sand. I'm a non-traditional bride and I'm going for a short mini dress with a bow/flower and pockets. since my dress is going to be under $500, I would like to splurge on a pair of shoes. Any destination brides have any ideas/pics of nice white sandal/flip flops for the beach? Or is the trend going  bare-foot for a beach wedding? Thanks so much!!

I ended up getting flip flops from Victoria's Secret, but you really can't go wrong either way (slippers or bare foot). I think Oahu changed their policy on beach weddings, so unless you're getting married on a private beach, double check and make sure what the rules and regulations are.

Lots of cute slippas and sandles at Vickies: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/collection/index.cfm?&rfnbr=6977&cgname=OSSHUSDLUDR&cgnbr=OSSHUSDLUDR&page=all

I found this hotel in Honolulu, called the Moana Surfrider and they had a few of wedding packages on a balcony overlooking the ocean, and I might be leaning towards that option. Thanks for the heads up! I seriously thought I could plot on a piece of beach and have a wedding!! :)

Coincidence about Kaneohe, HI..my momma is Korean but she lives in Tokyo. She has a really good friend that lives in Kaneohe, and my momma convinced me a destination wedding is a good idea!

Also, I work for Victoria's Secret, and I would've never thought to look at their website for shoes!!

    Moana Surfrider is beautiful!
If you haven't already, I suggest checking out the Hawaii knottie boards. There is a mix of local girls and girls planning from afar (and they are ALL very sweet and helpful). Great place to get vender recommendations!

I used to work at Vicki's too. Sure miss that discount!! hehe.

I think I'm going to call Moana Surfrider to see if I can get a quote or something. i just feel so lost and I'm not a negotiator! I have checked out the Hawaii knottie boards and I've received great recommendations on bakers and other vendors. They have been incredibly helpful!

    Victoria's discount is a good one! :)
