Let me first start by saying that I LOVE halos. I knew the moment my FH and I started talking about rings that I wanted one. I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions on the boards about halos, so please, if you are not a halo lover – do not post telling me that you don’t like halos. I don’t care. I want the opinions of my fellow halo lovers (and owners) on whether I should go with a SINGLE or DOUBLE halo.
My pear engagement ring began as a single halo with a very tricky and poorly designed interlocking setting. It always looked crooked, and was unable to be sized to fit my narrow fingers without the wedding band interlocked. Very frustrating. I recently had it re-set to a very pretty double halo cathedral setting. However, now I am questioning whether or not the 2 halos over power the ring. You can see by the pictures that the stone is less prominent with 2 halos, and there is just one continous sparkle. I still love it but am having second thoughts.
I have the option of re-setting it onto a simple pave’ diamond band, with no cathedral. (ie. they would adhere my halo onto a pronged band that was made for a solitaire. I would have to compromise the cathedral and gorgeous basket.
So, what do you think? single halo with prong setting, or double halo cathedral?

I like the first photo. It looks very neat and sparkly. Keep it that way 🙂

I like the double halo as well! More sparkle, more better lol

@erinandchrisYAY: I actually like the double. It might be the lighing, but the diamond looks much better in the double.

I prefer the double! It looks so pretty and elegant

The double looks awesome!

The double halo looks amazing!

I’m bias because I have a double halo cathedral and I love mine 🙂 So of course I voted double.
This is mine:

@erinandchrisYAY: I like the double halo and don’t think it overpowers the ring at all, because the two halo rings are thinner and pretty much the same thickness together as the single halo. So really, it’s just making it sparklier! And I think it looks really pretty and feminine.

Thanks everyone!!! The poll is split almost 50/50, but I’m leaning towards the double mostly because I love the cathedral setting. Such a hard decision when it comes to the ring you are going to wear for the rest of your life!!

I am personally not a big fan of the double halo, I love single!
(And I also love the band in the picture of the single halo)
