Me!!! We're getting married over 4th of July weekend and I'm SO EXCITED!!!! Our reception site is amazing! And I am starting to contact caterers. I think I'm going to take a little time off after we find our caterer.
I am too! My date is July 1st! What is yours? Im booking the church and venue next week then the rest I am going to do this summer (a year before) It seems like SOO like to wait, but im glad, but at least We can relax about it!

July 3rd for me too! I'm convinced I chose the best day ever, lol. I already have my dress and i've visited 7 venues (should be making a choice soon.) It feels great to be able to take your time and plan things right :)
Waking up to my first day of marriage on the 4th of July will be priceless!!!
July 23 2011!
I'm actually going to our ceremony/reception venue this weekend to look at the kitchen get an estimate to the tables/chairs onsite & finalize deposits.
I feel a little silly sometimes, being so gung-ho so far before the fact, but being in a wedding in june 2010, helping plan a wedding for june 2011, and my on in july 2011, I'd like to get as much done now, so I have less to stress closer to the date.
@missmouse29 My wedding date is July 23, 2011 too, we are date twins! So far we have booked the venue and church and I am researching caterers and photographers. I know I have plenty of time but it's hard not to dive in to the planning.
I'm July 16. We're doing a destination wedding in the Black Hills in SD. We've booked the ceremony and reception site, which comes with a caterer. So, we've got the backbone to the wedding all taken care of. Oh, we have a florist, too. We have a couple different options for the ceremony to decide between, they're both booked now, we just need to make the final decision. One is a small chapel at the park where we're getting married, and the other one is a banquet room next to the banquet room where we're holding our reception at the lodge. The plus to the banquet room is more room and air conditioning. The chapel is adorable, but it doesn't have air conditioning (it'll likely be hot), and will be a squeeze.

July 17, 2011 Here I come! So far, venue booked and date set! By the end of the summer, I'm hoping to have booked our photographer and band or DJ and possible buy my dress. also starting to work on our registry and color scheme and such.
July 2! I just got engaged last week but I'm leaving the country for a month tomorrow so I had to get some stuff done! I've booked the church and the reception venue and started talking to caterers and bands, but finalizing those is going to have to wait until August!
We just signed our venue contract - it is official JULY 30, 2011!!!! That is the only thing we have finalized so far, but I am super excited!

Chicago (or somewhere within that area).....I am already about to have a nervous breakdown I don't know WHERE to have it cause the costs are crazy and we want a nice day but don't want to dig a hole because we are trying to get a house :( I am here in IL with him but my family is all back on the east coast I decided to give him his hometown if we can go on a cruise (he hates being confined lol).
Once I get a location I will feel better and I know everything else will eventually fall in place but location is the top of the list and I want a nice location outdoors or in a atrium due to the weather.......

Yeah date twins!! July 2nd over here!!! I just started emailing photographers, and some are already booked btw. I thought I was really early too!
@BFRANK2584: I definitely know that feeling! We just officially booked our venues last week, which confirmed the actual wedding date! Whew - there was relief when that happened! Don't worry too much, just check out the places that fit your description and budget and it will all work out for you! You will feel much better about it all soon and setting an actual date really makes it seem much more real!
Other than venues (ceremony and reception), we have not done too much. I have gone dress shopping - SO much fun! - and will go again this weekend. I think we have more or less picked our colors. And that's about it. Goal is to have a photographer and DJ booked in the next few months here - and hopefully have my dress purchased!
If there is one thing I have learned - it is definitely not too early to start booking! Many vendors are already booking for next year, so it is at the very least a good idea to start looking and considering your options!
@dance: You are so right! I just got engaged like this past weekend and everyone I have come across has said you better hurry up you know Chicago is a big city and good locations are hard to find. I called two places already and they asked me what's my alternative date :(
He likes one place and I hope they have openings its totally beautiful! After that I am sure my picking up things here and there while stalking ebay is going to work out great

I tried some dresses on this past weekend, and the one bridesmaid dress that i like, doesnt come to CLOSE to the blue i want =(
and my major upset at the moment--- i cant have sparklers, yes, thats right, im sad cause we cant have sparklers =( hahaha.
I want everything booked by the fall. so then all I have to worry about is PAYING for it all! =) Congrats July Brides!
FI and I are getting married on July 9, 2011! We have our venue up in the North Ga Mountains, we've done engagement photos and we had an engagement party in May. My parents are in Germany, so it's been an interesting process so far trying to ask my mom for advice. I've also found the most amazing dress for our 6 pm outdoor wedding. It's the Taryn gown at J Crew. We're doing yellow bridesmaids dresses and khaki-ish suits with dark blue shirts and no tie for FI and groomsmen. Yay for July weddings!!!
I am a July 23, 2011 bride, too! We have our church, venue, photographer all picked out. The venue has in house catering so I don't have to worry about picking a caterer. And I found my dress almost two weeks ago! We got engaged in February and felt like we had tons of time after we set our date but the clock is ticking away. Can't believe it is almost July already! Definitely feeling the time crunch starting.
July 15, 2011 here!! We have our venue - for ceremony and reception, i "think" i've picked out my dress, we have our wedding party... not sure what else..

We have our reception venue -- that has in house food and beverages.
We have our church booked.
We have a deposit on our dj.
Tomorrow I'm sending in the deposit for the photographer.
I found and bought my dress today!
Working on DIY save the dates as we speak!
(Senior year in college, applying to pharmacy school while both the FI and I play fall college sports ...so we are trying to get as much done before school starts back up!!)
July 30th here, too! YAY, i've got some date twins out there :) Anywho, I've got my dress, wedding colors, ceremony & reception site, and photographer. I also have an idea what I would like my centerpieces to look like and what flowers I would like to use. The next thing I want to book is a DJ.....I have actually a lot of the wedding ironed out; however, I did get engaged almost a year ago, so I've had time!
July 2nd for us! We have our church and venue booked (golf course). We also have our photographer and DJ booked and sent out our STDs last week. I've started browsing sites on the net for dresses and am planning to start shopping for my dress in early September. Seems like the wedding is still a long time away, but I know it will sneak up fast!
Hi Girls! I just recently found these boards! I am getting married July 17, 2011. So far we have the venue booked, the band and the photographer. I have my dress and we just got the girls dresses as well! We are having our engagement party this weekend! Can't wait!! :)

We are date twins! Well done for being so organised. So far I have the venue, and I just booked the photographer. I have my vision figured out but am waiting till I buy a dress to start pulling the trigger on other things as I don't want to be limited.

i have my dress , save the dates , venue and reception , wedding colors, and few odds and ends for the reception .... taking a break for a week or so ... so stressed already .

So far we have a church, the venue, photographer, caterer and DJ. My mom and I will probably do most of the flowers ourselves, and FH is an artist so he is taking care of all the STDs, invites, programs, etc. FH's uncle used to be a videographer, so he is doing our wedding movie as our gift! We are doing yellow and blue for our colors and I am going with my sister (moh), grandma and mom to pick out a dress over christmas when we are all together!

Right now i'm working on the invites, cake, and dress. The venue and photographer are in place....
Hi Bees! I am a Chicago bride getting married on 7.16.11 I was originally going to be a June bride, but changed my date to what our videographer had available. I LOVE his work, and we got a good deal too b/c he is good friends with my FI. I also got a 10% discount at my venue and complimentary chair covers with sashes. Our venue includes everything from open bar, hors'douvers, 4 course meal and even the cake! I'm pretty ahead of schedule and have booked almost everything early from the Dj, photographer, and even photobooth. I think the only things left are transportation, finding BM dresses, and all the little details for decor and invites. I want to try and knock out as much as I can as early as possile b/c I am a full time student and will be applying for med school next year so i dont want to over stress myself. Our colors are eggplant, teal and gold . i guess the peacock theme without the feathers, but I'm having difficulty trying to put the reception decor together. Any other brides doing similiar colors?
