I am not getting married in Lake Tahoe, but one of my best friends is and I have been trying to help her research vendors. She's getting married at the Hyatt in Incline Village.
I have however been to one wedding at Plumpjack and it was fantastic, and Pete Charles did the ceremony music and then put together a band for the reception, and he WAS AWESOME!! I cannot reccomend him enough. I am hoping my friend goes with him as well.
@razzzzzz: I'm not a Tahoe bride, we're getting married in Sparks (essentially Reno) though. Have you looked at Bell Limo/Airport Minibus for a shuttle? I don't know what your budget for transportation is and it might get too expensive because Truckee is about an hour drive from the airport but their rates are pretty reasonable for a mini-bus I think. Might be worth looking into.
A friend of mine actually got a really beautiful cake for a good price by ordering through a grocery store. I think it was Scholari's. She also got married in Truckee and they delivered it the day of.
I looked at Emily Main too (we never actually met with her), her photos are gorgeous, but my fiance fell in love with Ciprian from Ciprian Photography. It was one thing he really voiced an opinion on and we got a killer deal because our friends had used him so we went with him. I'm really happy with him and in some ways they have similar styles but I still love looking at Emily Main's pictures!
@lpappas: just checked out Ciprian Photography - what GORGEOUS photos! wow. I can see why your fiance feel in love with the photos. I may just have to call him myself. Also, thanks for the tip on the cake.
and @SerenaSF thanks for the tip on Pete Charles! so happy to hear positive reviews.
I got married in Tahoe! A bunch of us posted our vendors a while back, in this thread. You might want to check it out! Also, there's still a few of us in Tahoe who post on the "reno" board, if you're looking for a local board.
I just got married in Tahoe this past summer. From my experience, Tahoe has pretty limited vendors, which can be good and bad. I actually had a lot of DIY and family/friends help out which helped with the budget and made things really special and personalized.
Rehearsal dinner: Sunnyside
Ceremony: Sugar Pine Point
Reception: The Lodge at Tahoe Donner
Photos: Marielle Hayes (out of Bay Area but also does a lot in Reno)
Videography: Patman Films (out of Southern California)
DJ: DJ Jeremy (out of SF/Bay Area)
Cocktail hour catering: Mountain Magic
Cake (wedding and grooms): A Flour Girl (South Lake Tahoe)
All of our vendors were fabulous and a joy to work with. I'd highly recommend all of them that I've just listed.
However, one warning--do NOT use A Party House for rentals. They were late setting up (granted there was an accident on 89 but everyone else was on time) and they did not bring all the equipment that we ordered. I wish I'd used EventMasters instead.
Good luck with the planning and have fun!

Who else is getting married in Lake Tahoe? Who are your vendors?
Rehearsal Dinner: Plumpjack
Ceremony/reception: Lodge at Tahoe Donner
DJ: probably North Shore Entertainment
musicians: probably Pete Charles
photos: probably Emily Main
cake: ?? might bake it myself
flowers: ?? might do them myself.
hair/make up: ??
transportation: ???? Turns out hiring shuttle buses is expensive. So much so that we should have just paid more to have the reception closer to where everyone will be staying. argh.
Anyone have experience with any of these vendors?
