So even before my FI and I got engaged, we were discussing getting married and I secretly began to look into wedding planning (I know, *sigh* but I know I'm not alone hehe) and I began lusting over Lazaro dresses, especially one in paticular. His designs have everything that I love, the lace, the detail, the sparkle, the vintage look. I ended buying the gown that I originally fell in love with!

To all the Lazaro ladies, show your dresses and/or share why you love him and his gowns!!

This was me last May trying on the sample gown that I bought and LOVE. Excuse the shiny makeup and messy hair, it had been a long day trying on dresses!

These are the ones from the website. I ordered mine in ivory. Does anyone else have this gown? Any pictures from your wedding?

(sorry the pics are so big, i dont know how to make them smaller!)

Your dress is gorgeous! You look beautiful!  I also bought a Lazaro gown.  Unfortunately I'm at work right now so I can't post a pic.  I posted it in my bio and in past posts though!

I love the trumpet style of my gown (like yours!) and I love all the embroidery and sparkle on mine!

Oh, that looks fantastic on you! I almost bought that same dress but it was $1700 more than mine, now I have bit of a dress envy :)

Is the one you have on it the pic ivory or white? I ordered my Lazaro in white, but I don't think I've actually seen any of his dresses in white. I'm anxious to see what it will look like. Oh and I met him in a trunk show too, what a sweet man! He drew me a personalized sketch of me in my dress.

    Here's mine:

@brooklynbride10: LOVE your dress, I actually remember trying it on! I love all the detail and sparkle, just makes it so special! You look stunning in it!

@roxy821: Thank you so much for your sweet words!! I love my gown, so much!!

@saidyes: You are so sweet!! Rivini has beautiful gowns but I like your style with looking at Lazaro! OMG i met him, too!! I bought my dress at his trunk show and he was there and drew a sketch of my gown. Nice man!!

@meliss: How cool you got to meet him at a trunk show, too!! I love the sketch, I really want to frame it. Are you doing anything with it? Your dress is gorgeous and I haven't seen it, omg it looks so similar to mine! Love it and you look great in it!! O and the color is ivory and that's what I ordered. The sample was a little different from mine (it came last Thanksgiving!!) but they said that it was because mine was brand new and the sample is old and has been touched and tried on a million times. I'm happy with it.

@lemilie and @piper: YES it's Bridals by Lori!! OMG I loved them, it was such a good experience and I've gone back several times since and they always go out of their way to be sweet and accommodating.

@chipmunk: Thank you so much, you are so sweet! I'm telling you, I LUSTED FOR MONTHS over my gown and when I tried on other gowns, I loved them but there was always something that I picked out or when asked what I liked about it, I could rattle off a few things. With this one, I couldn't even explain why I loved it, I just felt it and couldn't let it go. The style number is LZ3819 from his website under best selling styles and is still currently sold in bridal salons. It's even more gorgeous in person. Let me know if you try it on and how it goes!!

YAY, thanks ladies for commenting, keep em coming! I wanna see more Lazaros and hear your stories!!

@mrsmurraytobe - Do you mind me asking how tall are you? I've had this whole paranoia about the dress bodice being too long for me and yapped about it endlessly on here before :) It fits you PERFECT so I was just curious. It was hard to tell for me how the real dress is going to look like because the sample was 3 sizes too big and super long.

@meliss: No not at all!! I am about 5'5 and in the picture I was wearing 4 inch heels, which helps! Without heels, it still looked fine. I was worried about the style, too and it really is hard to get an idea in a dress that's way too big and is clipped up and down your backside! This is actually a sample in the picture! My gown came last Thanksgiving and looked great! They also told me that when I go for alterations, if I need the elongated bodice modified, like bringing it up or something, it would be no problem but you have to do it before you get it hemmed. I won't, though, I like how it fits. Hope this helps!! How tall are you?

Thanks for the info. I had other Bees reassure me of the same thing but I just had to ask again since it looked so perfect on you. I was hoping you weren't going to say you were 6 feet tall :)

I'm 5'3" and I custom ordered mine with the bodice shortened by 1.5", so hopefully it will be just right.

I am considering two different Lazaro dresses. The first dress is 3819 (same dress as mrsmurraytobe - except in white, not ivory). The bridal store offered me the sample of this dress for a great price, but it is a size 8 and I am 5' 3.5" and 113 lbs (I would need a size 2 or 4). But she assured me that their professional alterations department will make the dress perfect. This is a very classy bridal store with a great reputation and although I'm nervous about the alterations, they will likely do a great job.

The second dress is Lazaro 3003 (very similar to meliss) except that it is a more fitted trumpet (there is no horizontal line breaking the dress up/ it is very fitted and flares only at the very bottom). For the exact same price I would be able to get this dress brand new, ordered in my size, and in my preferred color (ivory).

LZ 3819 is a dream dress. It really feels like a wedding dress. I love the embroidering and they are offering a great deal for the sample (which is in great condition). I am concerned that it is in white (the detail isn't quite as obvious as mrsmurraytob's ivory dress), it is way too big & needs a lot of alterations, and that the horizontal cut off where the dress flares cuts me in half)

With LZ 3003, I love the sweetheart neckline (what I've always wanted), lean fit without any cutoffs (this is more flattering for my "short" physique), ivory color option, and option to have a new dress with design LZ 3003.

It's so hard to decide, especially when every sample I try on is way too big so I can't really see what the dress will look like! I'm going back this Saturday and I'll post some pictures after that appointment (if they let me take pictures!)

So I'm questioning: sample versus new (for same exact price), white vs ivory, embroidering I love vs embroidering that I really like, fit that I like (but am nervous about and question) vs fit that is very flattering, and neckline that I really like vs neckline that I love! (I know that's a lot!)

So I'm open to any advice, comments, and suggestions. Thanks for any help! :)

I love love looove that dress. I found the picture in a magazine and knew it was love! But, the dress shop wouldn't let me try it on because it was out of my budget and I was in danger of buying it, lol! I fell in love with a Henry Roth instead, and i'm happy/

@beachybride - I don't have much input as they're quiet different silhouettes and it ultimately comes down to your taste...Personally I preferred the embroidery on 3819 like you, but the sweetheart neck on 3002/3003. I'd only seen 3819 in pink floral when I was shopping, if I'd seen it in white or ivory I might've gone for that instead. I also was looking for a full skirt (in fact a ballgown but I settled for a trumpet) so 3003 was not an option for me.

I ordered my dress in white and would really love to see pics of what it looks like if you decide to buy the white sample! I don't care for the ivory color of Lazaro too much, especially on the 3002/3003 it was too creamy for me. Finally I don't think the size 8 would be a problem to alter. I'm 5'3", 110 lbs and size 2/4; and I fit into a size 6 in the Lazaro chart.

Keep us updated on what you decide, and please post pics :)

@meliss- Good point about the ivory being creamy. I'm getting married on the beach and I'm just concerned that white may be too bright in the sun and the details of the dress may be lost. But it is true that white Lazaro dresses aren't an extremely bright white. Because Lazaro dresses are made of true silk, the white isn't as bright as other fabrics. I will make my decision on color by the end of April. I'm posting a picture of the 3819 in white so that you can see the color. I don't have any pics of 3003 now, but if I get some this weekend then I'll be sure to post them. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the pic. When you get pics of both maybe you can make another thread/poll and ask for opinions from the hive?

By the way 3819 looks STUNNING on you! No need to have any worries about the fit, and I think the embroidery shows beautifully even in an ameteur camera flash photo.

I ordered my dress (3819!!) in the ivory and it wasn't as creamy or whatever as I thought it would be. When the dress came in, we actually thought they ordered it in white because it looked so, bright and white when compared to the sample. After discussing it, we realized that the ivory I tried on has been touched and worn so many times that it's turned and it dirty where mine is brand new and clean.

I haven't seen the white but I'm really pleased with the ivory. Hope this helps!!

Yaaaay, I finally have a dress twin!!! Welcome to the forum @jlynch1286. Do you have any pics of you in the sample dress? I'd love to see it another bride. I've had so many second thoughts about this dress, it makes me so happy that someone else has chosen it.

My dress should be arriving in 1-2 weeks so I'll post a pic as soon as I can!

Thanks @meliss!  I have a TON of questions for you haha.  I'm really curious about your choice of bridesmaid dresses too and how well they compliment your wedding dress.  I'm also curious about your shoes, accessories, etc.

Here is me in the sample dress with Lazaro (I bought it at a trunk show when he was there).  I love this dress so much!  (p.s. it looks really gorgeous on you!)

@jlynch1286 - Oh dear, I may not be the best person to ask questions right now, lol! I just picked up my dress and having some issues. You can read all about my ramblings here...Or better, you can ignore my ramblings and just look at the pics :)http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/picked-up-my-dressstill-not-sure-if-i-love-it-lots-of-pics

I'm so glad you love the dress, it is gorgeous, I'm just having some doubts and disappointments as to how it fits me. I'm taking it to a seamstress tomorrow. I don't want to make you doubt the dress too, or scare you away when you've just joined the board :) Sorry, I'm not much help for your other questions either as 1.I don't have a bridal party, just a MOH who gets to choose her own dress and color 2. I haven't picked out my shoes yet because I'm waiting to see where the hem will end up after any major alterations and then I'll pick my heels to match that. As for the veil, I'm wearing a lace mantilla no matter what dress I end up wearing! That excites me even more than the dress. For the reception I have a hair flower which I picked on the internet that somehow ended up matching the flowers on the dress perfectly. You can see that on my pics, and I can send you the link from Etsy if you want.

I'm dying to try on the Lazaro 3003 tomorrow @ Kleinfeld, but I did get a chance to try on the 3002 last week and *liked* it. Out of all the countless dresses I've tried on, the 3002 came closest to what I was looking for.. in terms of detailing, shimmer & uniqueness.  I just really have my heart set on the 3003 (just from looking @ pictures) & I'm hoping it ends up being the one.

You guys, wish me luck tomorrow that lucky #3003 will be the one for me!~

Below is a picture of the Lazaro 3002 in Ivory.  The ivory veil was amazingly beautiful and felt suuuper long, but crazy expensive @ $1,700! & boy is there A LOT of dress on this one!  We counted 7 layers of fabric!

I just purchased Lazaro 3018 in Antique last week at a trunk show in SF.  I love the crystal beading on the belt, but feel the bottom is too wide and may remove some of the poof before my big day.

I'm not going to wear a veil with mine, but did find a beautiful ostrich feather and crystal headpiece that I'm excited about.  That and some crystal chandeleir earrings and I'm set!

    Beautiful pictures!

I'm trying to find a veil to go with my ivory Lazaro 3819 gown. ... any thoughts?

Also, after October, the gown will be listed in the classifieds for any fall 2011 or 2012 brides! I wear a street size 4/6 and am 5'9" (with heals) in the gown.

WOW! You all look so beautiful.  So fun to find other Lazaro brides! I recently bought a Lazaro dress, #3061.  I just love the amazing details and I felt perfect in it.  I don't have pictures yet, though.  Here's the dress on the Lazaro website (click on the alternate view): http://www.jlmcouture.com/Lazaro/Bridal/Additional/Style-3061

Any thoughts on a veil with this?  I love a full length veil and was thinking a simple tulle one with a plain edge will melt into the tulle layers in the skirt and showcase the somewhat busy top to the dress, but will that kind of veil be too boring? Maybe some sparkle or something on it to pick up the flowers and sparkle in the top of the dress ...?  Would love to hear others' thoughts!
