Hey guys...
I'm from Trinidad and my FI is from St Lucia. We're having a boxing day wedding next...wait OMG this year and we're exited! Looking forward to sharing and hearing from everyone.. :)
Hey Ladies,
My family is from Antigua and the FI is from downsouth. We are definately having the traditional black cake. At the reception we will bw having the soca, calypso and some reggae. We will include caribbean food during the cocktail hour. Because we are having a New Orleans themed wedding, it will be and explosion of cultures.
Good Luck planning Ladies!!!
Hi Bees!! I have a friend who is selling her beauty shop and this includes her Malaysian and Peruvian Remy hair! Please let me know if you would like pics and/or prices! Congrats to all my bees....
FI and I are both Guyanese so we're definitely serving black cake. We are also having a Kwe Kwe (Queh Queh) the night before the wedding in lieu of a rehearsal dinner. It is an African pre wedding celebration that takes place the night before the wedding (drums & plenty wining involved) so it should be fun.
I'm Barbadian and FI is Nigerian. In addition to our regular buffet we're gonna do a Bajan station and a Naija station with some traditional food. I'll look into having some black cake as well since the wedding is close to Xmas!
My mother was born and raised in Jamaica and my fiance is of German/English desent - so excited to have both sides meet and to introduce my new family to my awesome culture. I've definitely got to get some black cake!
I'm Haitian and my FI's parents are both from St Thomas and Tortola as well.
We are having a steel band at cocktail hour. Soca, reggae and kompa will be played at the reception. And there will be island food at the family bbq the next day.. Good luck planning ladies!
Im Jamaican and my FI from St.Thomas VI. Of course the food will be mostly if not all Caribbean, black cake is a must. Music soca, reggae, roots, steel pan(at FI request). We are having our main wedding in Atlanta so the colors for the wedding will have that tropical feel. Purple and Orange . Looking forward to see everyones ideas come together.
I'm Jamaican and my fiance is Jewish. And he LOVES Jamaican food! We are going to do action stations at our reception and have one dedicated to Jamaican food and of course - we are having the black cake too and giving that as a favor! It's going to be great!
Hi! I am getting married in Jamaica Sandals Whitehouse on 30th of June this year! Anybody going there?
Hi I'm from The beautiful islands of The Bahamas so a Junkanoo Rush out (Junkanoo is reminiscent of New Orleans' Mardi Gras and Rio de Janeiro's Carnival, but it is distinctly Bahamian and exists nowhere else) will be the highlight of my wedding reception

I'm Guyanese and FI is Trini, so you know its going to be REAL bacchanal! Plenty of good food, soca and family!
