I’ve outlined my process for DIY wholesale flowers here 🙂

Medium: Wholesale flowers from a seller in LA.

Why: It was *cheap, and I wanted real flowers. Don’t really like the look of fake flowers.

Hardest thing: Transportation. Doing everything was fine, transporting them was the concern.

How Many Bouquets: 7. Mine was 10-12 inches across, the BM’s were 8-10 inches across. Toss was about 6 inches across.

Bouts: We didn’t do corsages. Did 6 bouts. They were 2-3 inches long and 1-2 inches wide.

Would I do it differently?: Only if I had the money to hire a florist. It was a lot of stress and hassle the day before the wedding; BUT – I am thrilled with how everything turned out. If I had to make the the same choice with the same set of circumstances (tight budget) then yes, I would absolutely do it again.

Cost breakdown: Please see my previous post that I listed for you 🙂 Total cost for the flowers, $500.

What medium did you choose? Silk Flowers from wedideas.com (Except my mom made mine from flowers from Michaels)

Why did you choose it? It was half the price of real flowers. Plus the girls could keep their bouquets forever.

What was the hardest thing about it: They were supposed to arrive at the beginning of July and came 2 weeks late. Easy fix, just leave extra time.

How many bouquets did you get? What size were they (inches)? 5 bouquets for the bridal party – I believe 6 inches across, the MOH’s was 8 inches across.  They were about $45 each, MOH’s was $65.

How many corsages & bouts did you get, what size&style were they: We had corsages & boutineers (pin-on ones) for parents & grandparents – so 10 people.

**We also ordered flower rings to go around the vases for our centerpieces. We ordered 19 of them.**

Would you do it differently now? Why or why not? Nope, everything worked out perfectly!

Can I see a cost breakdown with all materieals (and shipping, if needed): My mom did the order but it was just over $1000 for everything including the shipping.

4 Bridesmaid bouquets – 45 x 4 ($180)
1 MOH bouquet – 65 ($65)
2 small flower swag – 30 ($60)
1 large flower swag – 50 ($50)
19 centerpiece rings – 25 ($475)
10 corsages/boutineers – 12 ($120)

Shipping approx. $75

Here’s a pic to see the bridemaid bouquets (I chose on the smaller side)

And it’s a bit hard to see but it shows the flower swags on the head tables.

And the centerpiece rings around each (this was our main centerpiece)

What medium did you choose? (flower wholesale, grocery store, real touch)

Real touch flowers.

Why did you choose it?

I chose them because I’m having a destination wedding and I wanted specific colours and types of flowers and wasnt sure the destination would have this. Plus me and the girls get to keep our bouquets forever.

What was the hardest thing about it

Not having real flowers because I LOVE real flowers but they look super real so it was ok!

How many bouquets did you get? What size were they (inches)?

I got on bride bouquet , a toss bouquet and 6 bridesmaid bousquets. My bouquet is  7 inches I think and the bridemaids are 6 inches

How many corsages & bouts did you get, what size&style were they

I got one groom bout which is a single bloom but a different colour then the groomsmen. 6 groomsmen bouts and 2 ringbearer bouts

Would you do it differently now? Why or why not?

I dont know yet because my day hasnt come yet but probably would have done it the same either way unless I had an at home wedding

Can I see a cost breakdown with all materials (and shipping, if needed)

I spent a total of $684. I also got 2 flower girls pomander flower kissing balls and some lose flowers for my cake. I dont remember the breakdown. I will post a picture when I get them 🙂

What medium did you choose? (flower wholesale, grocery store, real touch

Flower wholesale with some grocery store. I also used a florist for some things.

Why did you choose it?

I LOVE fresh flowers even though I know they die and end up in the trash.

What was the hardest thing about it

TIME and storage. You need lots of help for prepping and putting the flowers together. Even if you are doing simple s arrangements and bouquets like us, there are just a ridiculous amount of things to do before the wedding that it gets overwhelming…even if you prepare ahead of time.

How many bouquets did you get? What size were they (inches)?

I had 7 bouquets: 1 bridal, 4 bridesmaids, 2 mothers. The bridal was probably 8 – 9 inches in diameter, while the bridesmaids and mothers were about 7 inches. These were intentionally made smaller because I had 2 sets of bouquets. I had a traditional tea ceremony that was at my parents’ house on Friday. The bouquets we made were for the tea ceremony. My Friday bouquet later served as a toss bouquet. My BM’s Friday bouquets were also reused as flowers on our cake canopy. My florist made the bouquets for the actual wedding ceremony on Saturday.

How many corsages & bouts did you get, what size&style were they

We made 10 bouts. We used Phalaenopsis orchids for the groomsmen, 2 fathers, 2 mothers, and my brother. For my hubby, we used a Cymbidium orchid with freesia. The rest of the Cymbidiums were used for cake flowers. The bouts were a single orchid with a leaf and a stem of alstroemeria. Maybe 4 inches long?

Would you do it differently now? Why or why not?

My florist made 15 centerpieces, and I did the remaining 9 which were 5 mazanita trees with flowers and 4 smaller arragements. I think if I had to do it again, I would only do the bouquets and bouts. In all honesty, the flowers don’t take that long to do…if that was the only thing you had to do. When it’s your wedding, there are just too many other things to worry about. I had so many friends come in from out of town, and they all wanted to hang out after the rehearsal dinner. I wasn’t able to because I had to go home and finish the centerpieces. I felt like a bad hostess. I only slept 3 hours the 2 nights before my wedding because of the flowers. They turned out great, and we saved a ton of money, but my mom and I were EXHAUSTED.
