As for meee...
I'm Kimmy, a nanny and OC-native getting married in a sunset ceremony aboard the Electra Cruises yacht "Eternity" sailing through Newport Harbor on September 21, 2012! So far our colors are Navy Blue & White with the jury still out on accent color... yellow? red? nude? :S
I got my dress from a closing Priscilla of Boston salon in Beverly Hills, booked a photobooth via Groupon, a trusty friend has volunteered to do the flowers and Electra takes care of the ceremony & catering but I'm still looking for cake, photography, decorations & possibly lighting vendors~ if anyone has suggestions that would be awesome!
I am also lacking in centerpieces ideas & other decor so if another bride wants to invest in the same vision, I'd love to share the cost & we'd save on shipping with being local & all :]
'nother OC bride here! Just havent been on this site in a while . I saw your post about the K1 visa, which is what im doing too! :) I know a few people who have done the electra cruises, and they all had great things to say about it! Im getting married at the hilton in huntington, i actually thought about the cruise, but i have a little bit of motion sickness lol so didnt think that would be a good idea for me. Oh and my names Jamie :)
@KimmySumShuga: Yay! You are getting married on the Eternity... I got married on there April 17 but almost two years ago! It's a fabulous venue and you won't regret it -- it was beautiful! Feel free to email me if you have any questions about it! :) My husband and I now own a Photo Booth rental company and have done a wedding on the yacht recently and it was so fun to remember all of the fun memories!
Hey! Im an oc bride from Huntington but I'm getting married up in San Pedro so I'm not sure if I qualify for this thread :) Since my wedding isn't until June 2013, I'm not very far into planning yet but I love hearing what everyone else is doing and getting the names of some vendors in the area!
@KimmySumShuga: I looked at Electra Cruises! My aunt got married there three years ago...it was a lot of fun! They do a good job and I know your day will be awesome!
I am an OC bride too! My name is Anne and I'm getting married at the Woodbury clubhouse in Irvine. I also inquired on having our wedding at the Electra but our ceremony takes place at a Catholic church so we wouldnt necessarily need the services of an officiant at the yacht. Plus I was a bit unsure of the 4 hours of reception time on the boat would be enough LOL. But for an all-inclusive package, their rates were pretty reasonable.
Please share vendors you've hired already and experiences. And if anybody's having a vintage theme and would like to share the costs of decor, I'd be more than happy to ;)
Hi! I got married at Casa del Camino in Laguna and it was AMAZING! I loved my entire experience with them and they turn it in to a very romantic setting. Rooftop ceremony overlooking the ocean and then the reception was downstairs between the lobby and restaurant - we had 85 people total and it was perfect! It was a few years ago, but I love everything about my day! Used Mandy Marie with Jim Kennedy Photographers and Amanda from Fantasy Florals who was fab!

@Jamersss: HI Jamie! Oohhh the dreaded K-1 visa... glad we're in this together! I got my NOA1 via txt, email & snail mall about two weeks ago and they took the cash just as quick so now I'm here trying to busy myself up with other wedding biz instead of thinking about all the what-ifs... VisaJourney isn't as fun as WeddingBee so yeah, I'd rather be here! haha
They say there shouldn't be too much motion on the yacht so I'm crossing my fingers none of my guests feel the same! haha I'm getting excited about our venue and doing all the decor and etc for a nautical wedding.. I'm on BM dresses right now and they are giving me a headache! lol
Hows your K-1 coming along? I'd love to hear your timeline!
July is just around the corner so I hope you're at least NOA2!

Hello everyone!
Not sure if I apply for this thread since I don't live in the OC, but I am getting married in the OC! My name is Karine and we're getting married on October 7th (ah, 6 months away!!) at Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach. We actually considered Electra Cruises as our venue as well but changed our minds due to a few guests having motion sickness and I didn't want to risk it (plus some of my friends aren't very punctual and didn't want to risk the yacht sailing away without them! Lol). Can't wait to hear about your weddings! :)
